@ Terry ;)

Laura, I see wires which seem to be in place to align working hinges, am I correct?

Regards,

OK, it is a brake line whcih you have not bent into the wheel because the wheel is not there!

Great work. :D

Regards,

looks like not much progress but the nacelles needed some gentle persuasion to fit in place, also added the wingtips and have a major gap on both ends underside - no problem, the wings still have to be puttied and sanded anyway!

then i added those fuel (?) dials to the engines - carefully glued in the clear parts, then added the pe parts to the massive original part, added only SMALL drops of glue to the corners and fixed them to the engine part with masking tape to minimize the possibility of fogging! will be interesting to watch if i will face fogging!

birdie has two Jumo 211 B1 engines and a landing light!

it was only until i assembled both engines when i realized what the instructions meant with "only towards inner side" in the step of the dials to be assembled! it means that the parts with the dials has to face towards the fuselage! it was kind of confusing until i cut out the two engine halves who have mirrored openings and clear parts have to be glued in in all four openings! after having realized i didn't care about being careful with the outside clear parts since they will be overpainted!

what slowed me down were the exhausts - not opened exhausts are unacceptable in this scale so i took my trusty pin vise and took care of them!

six exhausts per unit, each one had to be drilled out! i started with three small holes of 0,2mm diameter in each exhaust, followed by enlarging those holes with a 0,3mm drill and after that cleaning the openings with a sharp blade! six exhausts on four units, each one with three holes, drilled twice means that i drilled 144 holes in total and very careful! mind numbing!

the landing light was a bit complicated to paint! the norwegian restaurators of the ju88 show the original landing light and it is of some orangeish color with black cover painted from the inside only! so task n°1 was to mask the clear ares from the inside what was done with gunze liquid mask and a toothbrush, then mask the outside, paint the interior black and then removing all masking to paint the orange clear color!

that didn't work out too well, so i stripped the clear part, repeated masking and applying black and then i mixed clear orange with tamiya clear and dipped the landing light cover in it! didn't work too good also but the tamiya clear gave a good base for direct application of the orange clear in several layers!

the result still isn't flawless but acceptable, so i left it as is!
