A Pair of Dreidecker.

How about this?

Work in progress maybe?

I do wonder if the photo that shows the partially painted insignia was literally a WIP, maybe they finished the job before she flew again? If I get this to a base I think it would be neat to stage a couple of paint cans around.

Looks like my bench :) you build as large workshop, a huge bench, loads of storage and every thing ends up on a 2ft cutting mat 🤣

Yep, the way I read it those paint jobs were changing constantly. 127/17 was the one that ended up in the Museum in Berlin, photos of it there show the incomplete paint job. It was destroyed during bombing in WW2.

Pretty chunky wings and struts help ? My DH-9 has a 17 inch wing span, Its top wing wont sit on the center 4 cabane struts :)

Yeah you're not going to do that with all these kits.
The rigging on the cabane struts go into the struts themselves not the wing so I'm going to do that. I need to get decals on the top wing and rig the ailerons, it's time to put a flat coat on this to knock down the shine.

Top wing ready for a pin wash and a flat coat.
I got smart and started rigging the control horns before installing.

Also Paddy inspired me to create my own anchor with 24 gauge wire loop and drilled thru the pre punch hole for the rigging. Yeah, don't worry about the machine guns...there are barrels to be installed.

One thing I have notice, some modelers have turn buckles on all the control horns, that's not what you see when you look at period photos or even drawings. Only exposed turnbuckles I see are on the cabane and landing struts.

No updates this week. Went to Chicago on Thursday for work and it has been a nightmare due to a 3rd party vendor who screwed the pooch. So many things went wrong because they didn't want to engage or something yet they still get paid.

Long story short, I had to cut my visit short and come home on Sunday, scrambling around O'Hara airport trying to find an airline who would fly me home ASAP was no fun. But I did get to pull off the old joke, "Just flew in from Chicago, boy are my arms tired." :rimshot

I see a lot of unread messages out there, will catch up when I can.

Well boys...with much regret I have to report the top wing supports are fubar. Tab A going into Slot B was a bit too tight and the outer supports snapped.
I've seen brass supports offered but not sure i'll buy them. Fun painting this thing. Maybe another go one day.

By Gum...if they can repair Grosvenor House I can fix this.
I ran a small pin in the center but considering half of it was already attached to the wing, I didn't want to risk more damage pulling it out. As a result, didn't hit exact square and plumb. I filled in with CA and let it cure then hit a rough burr bit and sanded it down where it looked flattened and square. I think some strategic photos and mis placed pixels you want see the issue...except @Heavens Eagle Paul i'm sure he'll see the issue and have good taste to point it out. :mpup

The wing itself feels good and square up top and bottom. I should have taken more time fitting and sanded down the tabs more. I'm not giving up on this just yet. I have an airspeed indicator somewhere around here that I can install on that strut as a bit of distraction. Now just locating it.

Maybe I should have rigged up the landing gear before the top wing, I'm trying to figure out how to lay this up in the jig upside down to get to the undercarriage.

Ah........now you mention it i completely forgot to rig the undercarriage on the DH-9...... I cant see your repair which means its probably better than fritz would have done in the field :)
