A Pair of Dreidecker.

How about this?

Work in progress maybe?

I do wonder if the photo that shows the partially painted insignia was literally a WIP, maybe they finished the job before she flew again? If I get this to a base I think it would be neat to stage a couple of paint cans around.

Looks like my bench :) you build as large workshop, a huge bench, loads of storage and every thing ends up on a 2ft cutting mat 🤣

Yep, the way I read it those paint jobs were changing constantly. 127/17 was the one that ended up in the Museum in Berlin, photos of it there show the incomplete paint job. It was destroyed during bombing in WW2.

Pretty chunky wings and struts help ? My DH-9 has a 17 inch wing span, Its top wing wont sit on the center 4 cabane struts :)

Yeah you're not going to do that with all these kits.
The rigging on the cabane struts go into the struts themselves not the wing so I'm going to do that. I need to get decals on the top wing and rig the ailerons, it's time to put a flat coat on this to knock down the shine.

Top wing ready for a pin wash and a flat coat.
I got smart and started rigging the control horns before installing.

Also Paddy inspired me to create my own anchor with 24 gauge wire loop and drilled thru the pre punch hole for the rigging. Yeah, don't worry about the machine guns...there are barrels to be installed.

One thing I have notice, some modelers have turn buckles on all the control horns, that's not what you see when you look at period photos or even drawings. Only exposed turnbuckles I see are on the cabane and landing struts.

No updates this week. Went to Chicago on Thursday for work and it has been a nightmare due to a 3rd party vendor who screwed the pooch. So many things went wrong because they didn't want to engage or something yet they still get paid.

Long story short, I had to cut my visit short and come home on Sunday, scrambling around O'Hara airport trying to find an airline who would fly me home ASAP was no fun. But I did get to pull off the old joke, "Just flew in from Chicago, boy are my arms tired." :rimshot

I see a lot of unread messages out there, will catch up when I can.
