Sherman 18
Master at Arms
I saw this kit and thought it would make a neat display for the 1/72 T-72AV I had built earlier. Kit is all resin from Blackdog. I thought it was a little over priced but it could save me time. The castings are a bit rough; a lot of signs the mold breaking down and some spots of air bubbles. Both really do not bother me on something like this, the whole idea is for the broken city street.
I first washed the castings in Royal Purple and then let dry for a could of days. While the parts were drying I watched a lot of video of Syrian T-72s in action on YouTube.
I then could not resist a quick test of the layout with the T-72, only to find the tank doesn't fit the scene well.
Assembly is pretty straight forward with a grand total of five parts. I removed the casting plugs with a razor saw and then filed down remaining plug.
I removed/knocked down the rubble in the center of the street with my Dremel. In watching the street fighting in Syria I noticed that there was piles of what looked to me as sand in the streets. I'll figure out what I'm going to do as I go along with this.
Next up primer and paint
