It begins with short cast on a 1/350 210' WMEC lower hull. Since not much goes to waste here, chopping, sanding and shaping began to achieve a .72inch beam and close to 3.77 inch length. Yes, the hunk of lower hull started superstructure construction. The bridge winders fit well and looked cool, until I was reminded to look at the references. They don't look like a control tower anymore.

.......brings us all here, without enduring every long-winded, boring, step in Mastering. These are almost always ugly before they go to mold. This 1/350 Island class WPB is no exception. More filling and shaping to come. I tried to buy some photo-etched mast parts from an eBay vendor in China for this model.
They want $207.30 in shipping for a $9.00 item. They need our business a lot more than we need theirs.
Eatabagadix, ChiComs!

That's absolute horseshit. I saw another post about some asshole trying to gouge and blame tariffs.

I ordered something for the dogs, didn't realize it was from china but there was no unreasonable shipping charge. These assholes can kiss my ass.

I dreamt last night that a winged sailing ship flew by my me. Smoke from the stack, making a fair bit of way, just above the clouds.
I don't know if Otto Lillienthal, Spaceballs, One Piece anime' or Buzz Lightyear is responsible for this, but I grew weary of all the sanding.
So.............................

Do you think the STOL wingtips are too much? Imagine the capabilities a set of gull-wing glider wings could give to almost any small model!
HMS Surprise? Rick Raccoon? 1/72 scale T-34? The list is endless!

Completed wing and tail Masters. I did leave the hardpoints for rockets off.
Adding to the ridiculousness of such a thing, I made these from Hy-Vee menus Teresa brought home.
Free .015 plastic comes in handy sometimes.

Then, I went back to filling and sanding. :bash:
The forward spray shield only has a few more tiny divots to fill.
Thanks for looking in!

The longer I work on this the worse it looks. I've never had such a fight with a Master before. I'm a big enough man to admit the Do-Over. Since my lay-off, I have been "working" at TLAR Models as if it would replace my lost income and the structure of work. I know guys that LOVE being laid-off and I have done a poor job feeling at ease with my unemployment. Anxiety has replaced creativity. I have no expectation of being recalled to work for a boss I have little respect for, in bargain-basement, low quality (DR Horton Homes) that I despise. So what is the loss?
I wonder such things.
Happy Hour has arrived and Teresa and I are celebrating Markus Areillius Karolus' Happy Birthday.
I hope all of you have something to celebrate as well!!
