Looking good. :good:

If your rear wheels are not stuck on I would suggest sanding the rear tires with a fingernail file. :drinks

1/25 funny car.... chasis continued

well progressing through and it all seems to be going smooth enough, for now anyway.

progression was made on the chasis, and one little hiccup.

after paintwork on the engine parts and the tranny parts i wanted to mock them up to make sure all fits good. so.........

chasis-10_zpsc03e765a.jpg

i also added the aluminum plate that acts as the interior of the body.

before i could mock this up though i had a bit of a hiccup. for those who decide to build this kit be aware if you place the engine as the instructions indicate you will have a minor issue. the engine will be about half an inch or so too far to the rear. of course if you place it where it needs to go you cause another issue. the drive train does not match up with the tranny.

so after i mocked up the engine where it belonged i used a styrene rod to make up the gap.

so far colors used are:

the red parts are the testors little square bottle thinned and sprayed.
the upper engine parts are alclad chrome.
the engine block was sprayed alclad steel and then red.
the tube framing was sprayed aircraft aluminum.
the tranny is alclad duraluminum.
the wheels are sprayed chrome.
the flat aluminum piece is sprayed alclad aircraft aluminum.
the rear end is sprayed alclad polished aluminum.

so far so good.

luiz many thanks. she is just falling together so far. i just seem to be in the same room.

1/25 funny car.... engine in place

you are both very kind. thank you.

we have progress.

over the last couple of nights i have worked on mounting the engine. this turned into a bit of a fiasco but all is good.

be aware my initial fix didnt fix it. i had to cut the flat piece a bit to get the engine in a spot where the body would sit down on the chasis. if you build this kit make sure you test this out. it does not sit where the instructions have it and you will have to modify the drive train a touch.

but with that said..................

chasis-18_zps2b29e535.jpg

and mocked up with the body.

chasis-15_zpse21edf20.jpg

note the body and the flat piece are not glued therefore they are not square nor level. i will fix that.

now whats left. well honestly not much.

pieces for the cockpit tub.

small-stuff-2_zps698d3cc7.jpg

wheelie bars, part to hold the body up, and some kind of either fire extinguisher or o2 bottles.

small-stuff-1_zps0969467a.jpg

decals for the body need to be added as well.

funny after seven months on a project with so many little parts this just seems like it is falling together for me.

Great job! It seems to be almost falling together. I am enjoying watching this as it has been many years since I have built a funny car. When I was a kid I built most of the Revell ones, but none since.
