I've been wanting to checkout the new Squadron location and since I ran out of primer I decided to go. The crazy thing is the new headquarters/shop/ online order warehouse is less than 15 miles from my home in Ringgold, Ga. The physical store is not big, but they do keep certain supplies and a complete line of paint for Tamiya, Vallejo and their Squadron brand. I got to meet the owner, Brandon Lowe, who invited me to walk through the warehouse. It's big! He also invited me to the monthly model meetings that's held there. Anyway it's nice having an actual hobby shop so close!

Hobby warehouse, more like! A man can build a decadent stack of kits and supplies on days when shoppers are welcomed to roam the hallowed hobby spaces! I have done so only twice.

Check the Squadron website. Model Maniacs are only welcomed on certain days.

Obviously north of Atlanta :smack:and obviously on Augusta status !:rotf:rotf:rotf . Would be squadron shop replacement is a long way from here . . .
I drove through the cool NC State Park and made it to Blue Ridge in 1/2 of a day from Boilin' Sprangs! It was a lovely car-ride.

While we have a decent hobby shop here in Memphis, the model portion is quite small these days. I get it as they have a LOT of train stuff and a ton of RC car stuff. There is even a giant slot car track that is almost always in use especially on the weekends.
A while back I went in looking for some paint and it was spotty at best. While they carry Vallejo, Tamiya, Life Color, a Mr. Color as well as Alclad, the selection was hit and miss (with mostly misses) as their stock was rather depleted.

Today I needed some casting resin. Usually in the past Hobby Lobby had some Alumilite which I have used with good results. They only had the clear stuff and it takes a while (week or more) to fully cure. So Amazon to the rescue again. I will have some resin Tues or Wednesday.
