Aircraft at Sea

I know I have a Navy F-4 Phantom on the unfinished shelf that Ed would love to see finished ... I'm putting in a legends Pit ... I've re-scribed the wings & stabilizers and also bought Navy tires ... it was the Monogram ShowTime 100 Mig Killer Kit ... I luv that bird ... :pilot ... but during the War I was Air Force ... :pilot

Well then you are stepping up to real aviation.

Thought you only had baloons during the civil war - did not know them baloons were called airforce though :D :fencing

I can't merged two threads with Polls. So we're going with Tail Hook, Right?

Can we start this the 1 st of the month ? Frankly I'll get bored waiting if you go much further and will be doing something else.

Cheers, Christian B)

Like you don't do Navy aircraft all the time...:rotf

I guess so. Don't think we have anything scheduled now.

Not the problem at all. It's what about time frames : what I'm currently building and what else has my interest.

If I don't get to work on my current interest, it goes to the back shelf and by the time you guys get back to it my interest is somewhere completely different ... Don't do waiting too well :pilot

Cheers, Christian B)

This would make a cool dio.
It was a hawk from my old unit landing on a carrier during Grenada in 83.

Yepper, an army bird from the 82nd aviation battalion of the 82nd Airborne Division.

It was an early model UH-60A.

Yeppers :D I did Showtime 100 & if I recall right you were going to do a VF-41(?) off Saratoga. Yeah, ya gotta admit that was a challenge, cutting up a perfectly good kit just to install the Legend pit!! :frantic then having to rescribe since the pit has recessed lines :facepalm

SA Dave, (&all y'all) I apologize for mentioning non "Navy birds" on here seeing how everyone made such a fuss about it. From now on, I'll refrain from jumping in with ideas or questions. I just thought they were interesting subjects for discussion.
My bad :bang head :bang head

Questions and ideas are great, but we need to stay on topic or things will get out of hand. Since Dave was talking about Navy aircraft that is the topic.

:D

Ok I started the "TAILHOOK CAMPAIGN" back in 2011. My intent was a build that would be about aircraft that operate from a carrier "NOT" being transported on a carrier, "NOT" just taking off from a carrier(p-40-b-25), "NOT" landing on carrier in an emergency(ARVN hueys from vietnam), "NOT" Apollo space capsules, "NOT" Japanese army aircraft crashing into a carrier, and "NOT" some sailer chucking a wrench at a passing plane, just planes/helocopters you know the ones that live and work on a carrier. SEEMS PRETTY DAMN SIMPLE TO ME! Quit debating a subject just here the keys click. If you don't have any carrier planes that's ok don't join, but please stop trying to fit what you have into a build. If you're just dabating..... well we got a way to fix that.

are we clear now?

Terry

I used to chuck 5" ammo at passing planes, Terry, not wrenches, Those were saved for helos.

I was going to make a crack about being clear now, but I think that might be pushing it.

I am thinking I will likely jump in on this, as I have always thought that the 'High Visibility' markings on Navy birds in the 60's and 70's (the neat little A-4 Skyhawk or the almighty Phantom jump to mind) would be very good subjects.

Ok but, the topic is Aircraft at Sea. End of discussion. Thanks for clarifying this
