Zugkraftwagen 5t "Diana" Sd.Kfz.6/3 by Bronco 1/35

Who did the rain dance!!!! I hope it will be good tomorrow.
I'm lucky to have my spraybooth, so i don't have to worry about the weather :)

The day turned out to be just what the doctor ordered weather wise. (y)
Finish work sure goes slow with enamels but it moves along anyway.

This Diana was in the last batch delivered in Feb of 42 so I went easy on the wear and tear but they still got nasty.
The weathering was done with AK Interactive DAK Filter and DAK wash. I'll let this dry and then install the gun armor shields and get the gun tied down in the stirups.

Hope you folks approve :D

For a Bronco kit I think it has excellent detail Dusan. Interior detail documentation is sparse so you can go wild there if you want. :eek:hmy:

Pup it's about time you returned home, what happened, you run out of popcorn??

Thanks guys

Thanks and if this many approve I WILL carry on as if I had good sense. :gogo

Pest control dropped by so we had to stay outside for almost three hours,I took a few parts out with me but I could have done more if my bench was portable.

One more thing
I've meant to ask for days but forgot to.
What material did they use to cover the seat in an open half track cab?
I see most people paint theirs to look like leather but I would think leather would dry out and crack.
If they used canvas and it got wet they would have a wet butt.
Did they use what was called oil cloth back then for seats exposed to the weather?

Thanks for any info

Tony I dont know for sure, but I am guessing a canvas type cloth. I know in the jeeps I drove while in the reserves I sat on many a wet seat. Of course the rest of me was wet and muddy so didnt always notice. I will never forget the feeling though. :blink
James

James, one of my uncles was in Korea during the war and he said they brushed on a mixture of kerosine and bees wax,let it dry and that would water proof the seats for awhile.
I had a feeling the half tracks had a canvas covering on the seats.

OK Thanks big guy and the Soggy Bottoms Boys thank you too.

TONY,

Yeah Baby !! :ro: Great Job so far !!! I love what you did with th Ammo Locker !! Th Gun will be a Great contrast to th Desert Color !!

As far as th seats go ..... All I've ever read was that th German's covered everything in Leather . Open top or not. Now did this thing ever have a collapsable canopy , like th Sd.Kfz 7's ? I'll look through th Panzer Library & see if I can find a definitive answer for ya' . I do not have any reference on th Sd.Kfz 6 , but I do have some on th 7 . Another thing .... being in th desert .... probably didn't see too much rain.

Keep up th Great work &I look forward to seein th next installment !

Hey,TL...

Take a look at the pictures I took on the Militracks 2011 event.
The covers used ARE canvas.
I don't think the Sd.Kfz 6 isn't that different as the Sd.Kfz 7,tarpaulin wise.
