wds's - Model cases

Something I have been working on and recently completed and installed. A pair of model cases.
They are installed in my backyard office/ man-cave/ work spce. They are roughly 22’ wide x 32” high and 4-1/2” deep. You get the idea. Lights are from IKEA and are wired daisy chain fashion to the book cases to the right, back to a switch by the door. Adjustable glass shelves. Glass doors installed to keep the dust off (I hope!).

NEXT! :soldier :soldier :soldier

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,

Bill

I'be been looking for a nice case, think I got a couple of builds that would be worthy of display.

Looks great Bill. (y)

First class Bill!!

Nice work area too...throw about 50 lbs of shit all over the place and it looks just like mine... :D

Thanks ausf! :D
Thanks Bob! Hope you are well on your way to recovery. Cheers. :soldier :soldier :soldier
Thanks Luiz! (y)
Thanks Tom! Yes it’s a constant battle to keep 10lbs of beans in a 8 lb. bag. I did a little clean up prior to photos. Notice I didn’t show the other side of the “room” (box).
Thanks Ed. (y)
Thanks Warren! Shoe boxes. I think this will have to be a rotating display. Out with the old in with the new (and hopefully improved). ;)

Cheers,

Bill

Nice cases Bill ... I hope you have beaten the Dust ..... But with me being an electronic Technician .... I have found that dust goes anywhere you don't want it ..... to wit inside the TV ..... have you looked in there??? :rotf

Thanks raiderfan!

Excellent job on the cases Bill! What hinges did you use on the doors, and do they have glass or lexan (acrylic) for the "see thru stuff"?

Thanks Gator!

Thanks, Paul!

The hinges are by Blum (or any other similar cabinet hinge) See photo below.
The doors are glazed with glass. The glass shop said it was "double strength". It's not tempered, and not all that thick. It does add weight (over plastic, lexan, etc...) I'm sure the glass in the doors, and the weight of the glass shelves doubled the weight of the cabinet w/ models.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,

Bill
