Especially after watching the show that's on The Military Channel right NOW! Lots of armor...top 10!

I need to finish my M48.....just a little under the weather right now. :(

But dude, keep posting pics, I'm learning a lot from them.

Thanks John!! This project will most likely be done by the end of October. When I get going, unless I run into a real problem, I tend to move right along.

Re:Terry's M113

Wow, Terry!

That is some pretty awesome superdetailing. It's got me motivated to try to start some armor models that I've had sitting around for years. However, mine will still look like plastic models where yours could pass as the real thing depending how you photograph it when it is completed.

I showed this thread to one of the guys in my unit who used to be in a mechanized infantry unit back when they had M113's and he was amazed at your details with the engine and interior as was I.

I think I remember reading somewhere in this thread that you weren't going to do this as an ACAV because you wanted to make it represent a vehicle from the early years of the war. If so, I'd suggest changing the M16 with 30 round magazine to an M16 with a 20 round magazine or even an M14 for you to have a super accurate M113 for the early years. Please don't take that the wrong way. Since you are putting so much effort into making such a incredible model with exceptional detail, you might as well have all of the details right. I can't wait to see the finished product. You are doing an outstanding job with this model.

That is amazing detail most of us would never had thought about.
And that's what sharing these builds on TnT or any internet site is all about. (y) (y) (y) (y) :drink

Re:Terry's M113 "LETS MAKE TRACKS' "DIRTY JOB"

Ok it's time to get back to what I was doing. I've been getting down and dirty working on the M113. The only time a tank is clean is when leaves the factory or when it's on display. So having completed the assembly work and after applying some paint it was time to get dirty. I have dirty her with pastel chalk powder mixed with alcohol(the rubbing kind) not to mention liberal us airbrushed paint both earth and a lighten shade of the base color dark green. Here are some pictures let me know what you think. Thanks for looking.

Re:Terry's M113 "LETS MAKE TRACKS' "DIRTY JOB"

Excellent job on the weathering, Terry.

If it weren't for the model being photographed on your workbench with paint bottles near it, I'm pretty sure I could convince people that it was the real thing. Just the right amount of dirt and fading. Again, excellent!
