I'm going totally out of box, not even bothering with ignition wires.
I'm going for that war weary patch work of an aircraft. I'm listening to A Dawn Like Thunder, the story about Torpedo Squadron 8. When they were on Guadalcanal they ended up cannibalizing TBFs to get one or 2 flying. I don't know if any photos of those aircraft are around but I'm going for that same look with this early F4F-1.

I built an old Hobbycrap F4U-1 Birdcage kit (OK, wasn't too bad really) for a friend and this was the subject using the kit decals:

Now, BarracudaCals has released the subject once more after research in which the girl is much more tanned and finding the starboard markings!

Debating my paint order. Wings are dry fitted as well as the engine and cowling. Yep cowls closed, flaps down. Might need a bit of putty on the top seam to clean things up. Otherwise evernthing is closed up nicely. Such a nice little kit. :plane
