Well I have started this beast and it really is a beast. I am on the running gear and it is brutal. There are 16 bogeys each with 16 pieces. I just finished number 1. It articulates nicely and has springs on each damper. This is going to take a while.

Pics of my work soon. Unfortunately I wont have much time this week as work is going to be heavy and I have to get ready for my Daughters wedding.

Okay first off the instructions for the bogies.

What they dont tell you is there are 2 types, B and C. They show the assembly for B and C should be the same. The only difference I can see is in a small diagram off to the side and the springs are reversed. Too easy, but be aware before you make all B's or all C's. The springs are very soft and so some of the bogies dont articulate as they should.

I taped the hull together and placed the outer track bodies beside to get an idea of the size.

My desk is a disaster area though so dont look at it ;)

Got the kit inhouse just last week and truly.. its a beast. Even Mengs Tortouise is small compared to the T-28. Will follow your build and hopefully learn from your experience.

Gave me an idea.. Perhaps getting the MAUS also in 1/35 and build the three as a series.

Thanks guys.I think it will be an interesting build.
Edward, those were my plans also. I have the Tortoise and a friend has offered me the Maus. I think the super heavy threesome will look cool together.

So far only 1 aggravation besides tiny parts. You have to glue the guide teeth on the tracks as they come individually. There are 8 standard length tracks which build up into 4 long tracks. I am thinking of cheating and only adding the teeth to the bottom run of each as I dont think anyone will pick this up and look. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a good idea!

If you leave off the top run teeth beware of The Rivet Counting Judges if you ever decide to enter it in a contest. Otherwise, I;d also agree that it'snot worth the aggravation if you're not goung to see them.

Cheers

Just a note here guys and gals. Building the running gear is tedium with a capitol T and seriously mind numbing.
On a Plus note my buddy Maus gave me the Maus so now I have the big three. Maus, Tortoise and T-28 to build into a little group.

More in a few weeks.

No pics, but spent about an hour doing more running gear. Man its tedious and boring. Hope to finish it soon so I can get to the exciting parts of the kit. Pics soon.
