ReconRon's FLAK 38 in 1:48 scale

So the ACE kit has only decals for the Luftwaffe's elite Hermann Goering Division.
Did coat the model with old formula Future thinned with car wiper screen wash.

The model as it is now,is between weathering stages;blue enamel filters, some chipping and a black scruffy wash
(have to remove some of it)

The AA-gun's crew did well, they even managed to Knock Out 5 trains :blink

Dang! the HG Division marking for the trailer is just a bit oversized,I had to cut it a bit
smaller, damaging it somehow to made it fit. :bang head
...and of course,I did loose the taillight, never to be seen again. :bang head

ReconRon's FLAK 38 in 1:48 scale...dddirty

Dirty,dirty,dirty!

Removing some Black Wash,Adding Earth colored Washes, some fading with oils, playing around with pigments and acrylic resin,
using Humbrol Metal Coat on the gun it self.

One of the reasons why I dirtied up this one,are the tires;they are in 2 halfs and don't have profile on the sides that make contact with the surface.
So...the FLAK and it's trailer moved over a wet muddy dirt road.
The centre of the wheels have dried up mud, while the outsides are wet.

I do find it a bit annoying that the flash of the camera makes it look like the barrel is painted in a Silver color,
It isn't,it's darker in reality. :S

Think I'm done with this one.
Next stop a small base AND some ddddirty groundwork.

Thanks for dropping by.
Greetings,Ron.

ReconRon's FLAK 38 in 1:48 scale -Mushrooms

OK then, base and groundwork is almost about done.

I experimented a bit with stretched sprue and a candle, the result was mushrooms.
Think they look about right for 1:48 scale. :hmmm
