What do you use to accentuate panel lines on aircraft. I tried an oil wash a cpl of times but it just doesnt seem to work right for me. So what do you use? Oil wash, Gouache wash, Ink, Artist Pencil or ....? Tell me

Thanks, Joe

well Joe, it depends ... some time I use an oil wash, sometimes a wash of acrylics I mixed myself but more often promodeller wash ( http://www.promodeller.com/promodellers-weathering-wash/ )

Joe I have used all three depends on the depth of the panel lines. A wash will not work well in shallow panel lines.

Oil wash has worked better for me lately although I have been doing some with pigments. The last one I did that really needed a panel wash was the Voo Doo F101, Did a oil wash on top of a Aero Gloss hot fuel sealant and it worked well. It's really what works for you. I have used pigments, enamal wash, oil wash. even know someone who used Soy Sauce and coffee.

I have used all including ink in a drafting pen. Imagine trying to find Burnt Sienna and Raw Umber inks!
