Panzer IIC

Okay I decided I had to build and finish something. It had to be easy and oob. So knowing Tamiya are very easy to put together I pulled out the Panzer II abc French Campaign. Now I had already ordered a 20mm barrel for this and it just so happened to arrive today. I also replaced the support rod on the aft chassis with brass rod. I started this on Sunday and this is where I am today.

On Monday I decided to splurge and ordered some Fruil tracks and a Bison decal set. I wasnt going to post pics, just build and finish it. But I am so far along that I decided I would show. I hope this doesnt break the spell and cause me to sit back and let it languish.

AM Barrel, brass rod, Bison decals, Fruili tracks.....well, so much for fast, easy and OOB.

Looking good James.

Yes I know. Just not as bad as usual. The brass rod I would have done anyways. The barrel well that was ordered before hand. The track, I just find it easier than the plastic stuff and the decals, well there is one scheme there I really like, but it will have to wait till the next one because I already added stuff that I shouldn't have. So I guess aoob. Just some minor stuff to glue on, take wheels off again and prime then paint. I think I have enough paint.

JAMES,

Lookin SoooWeet ! I love this kit. I built it a little while ago ! Great fit as always ! That's a Beautiful Barrel , it really adds to th Panzer !!
One note about th Fruilis . Because of the weight, watch out for it pulling the sprocket out of alignment.

Nice work James,I recently picked up the dragon smart kit with the interior,I like the way yours is coming.

No pics tonight, but for the most part she is done. Will prime with Nato Black tomorrow and post some pics. Then on to the German Grey. Will try some experiments with this one. Also have to pick up some stick pins tomorrow and try them in the tracks.
James

James measure your wire that came with the tracks and try to get the pins as close to that size as you can.
Not much meat on that small a track.

I got some pins today from a craft section. They are brass and copper. Bit too big for the Panzer II though. So doing it with wire.
Painted the tanks Nato Black and then tonight a very thin German Grey. Not sure if I pulled off the effect, but it looks okay to me. Will have to look at markings next. The Bison decals I just bought are all yellowed for some reason. So wont use them.
