Painting "soft resin"?

My CF-100 cockpit update set has some parts in it that appear to not have had enough hardener added to the resin. They are soft and can be bent including the pour blocks.

The parts appear to be cured though but are still bendable. Can these parts be painted or will the soft resin cause problems? Ayone experience soft resin but were able to paint it okay without problems in the paint finish cropping up later?

Thanks and cheers from Peter

Peter, the parts are not cured and never will. You can try to paint them but more then likely cause you problems with a oily look and the paint could lift off the parts.

Thanks. That's what I suspected and was afraid would happen. Thank goodness the cockpit tub is hard as is one of the seats. I'll paint the soft resin parts and set them aside for a week or so. At least those parts are interior parts.

What kind of irks me is that this set cost me $35.00 and the guy hasn't responded to my emaiol asking if he's sent the replacement parts yet. Meanwhile my CF-100 Mk.IV project build is held up waiting for him.

Based on this I won't be ordering anything else from him.

Cheers
