OUCH

Barney

Well-known member
So, there I was, second day on the new job and BAM I am in the ER.

Diagnosis: 9mm Kidney Stone. Do you have any idea how long it takes to make a 9mm kidney stone? I want to save it and enter it in Nationals next year.

They couldn't fit me in the schedule Wednesday but managed to squeeze me in yesterday. Unfortunately, my ureter is too small to accommodate a 9mm stone and too small to accommodate the probe to blast it to smithereens. So,they placed stint in my ureter to expand it so they can go in and get the stone.

Normally, I am a jovial person with a fairly positive perspective... Right now, I am not a happy fellow. They had a difficult time intubating me, so we add a damaged throat to the rest of this shit. The only thing that doesn't hurt to do is breathe. I gave up thinking years ago.

Jeez, Barney- ouch indeed! No lithotripty? I don't even want to think about all that! Hope it gets better fast!

Ouch thats gotta suck Barney. Just went through that in September and wouldnt wish it on anybody. Hope you feel better.

Darn Barney made me hurt just to think about that . Prayers for you brother that this too will pass. ( no punt intended here ) Hope you're better soon.
Cheers, Christian

Dave,

I named it Sharon. We have gone everywhere and done everything together for years. Now she has betrayed me and caused me terrible pain.

Just proves you can't trust any of 'em.

Update time:

Today they went in and blasted the bugger with a laser. :frantic

After a consult with the Gas Passers, they called on ENT to place the breathing tube to minimize damage to my vocal chords. :yipee and avoid the massive lawsuit.

Hopefully, all plumbing will be back to age appropriate function inside a fortnight.

OOOOH_WAAAH! 9mm is .375 or 3/8ths on an inch! I have had a few small ones and hey were bad enough, but if I had one at 3/8ths, I would get it a college fund!

Sorry to hear it and hope it gets better!

PS - I wouldn't go with a female name but rather that of a politician, since the pain they put us thru seems so similar.........................

I think it might be the name of one of his ex wifes or theyr lawyers :D

Had one I passed years ago but it was tony and just made me whizz like a race horse. Didn't hurt just couldn't stop peein till it passed.

The worst I ever hurt was last year when I had a bile stone pop up. It's basically a gall stone but have no gall bladder any more. Thought it was a kidney stone, but the cat scan showed I don't have any.

Hope it returns to normal soon Barney!
