OK.. So how do I....

The tank sounds like a good idea... I can fill it during the day when the "unplucked rose" is out doing her thang...

Obviously no one is aware of my complete ineptitude in building things mechanical... I am not allow to change light bulbs... let alone build a compressor system...

Really strange since I was graduated from the USAF Weapons Maintenance and Ground Radio Maintenance schools and the USAF Aircraft and Weapons Maintenance Officer's courses...

Graduate from Aviation High School, volunteered to help restore aircraft, can't fix his own car!

I feel your pain!

Regards,

Hey, I worked my way up through the ranks! :good:

And please, let us all remember that I retired as a Master Sergeant. :coolio

Not sure if this is in your budget right now Barney http://www.tcpglobal.com/itemdetail_AB.aspx?itemno=ABD+TC-20T I've been using one for the past year and it works great. Never had any of the neighbors complain about the noise at all. It runs at about 59db, which according to everything I have read is about the same noise level as a normal conversation. Sarah can't even hear it in the next room if I have the door closed. As far as acrylic paint goes I have been using mostly Tamiya and Vallejo Model Air stuff. But I have been priming with just cheap krylon before I use the acrylic stuff. It seems to help with lifting issues.

Thank you all for you advice, comments, suggestions and in the case of SA Dave: generally silly stuff... typical for a knuckle dragger...

My current compressor is a Porter-Cable pancake... great compressor but very noisy! :dude

I am going to get a small compressor w/tank from Harbor Freight... if is pans out I'll upgrade to a better one when it eventually burns up. :rotf

Paint-wise, I think I will pick up a couple of bottles of MMAcrylic, Tamiya and Vallejo Model Colors and see what happens...

The budget is no longer an issue (thanks to my military retirement finally arriving in my bank account).

Space of course is, but hat is manageable...

Again... Thanks everyone. It is a goodness that so many people are willing to offer advice and suggestions.

You do realize that now, the little devil will run for a hundred years; just loud enough to irritate
but not so loud you can afford to just junk it

Got a compressor from TCP... Ran it last night with a sound dampening matt underneath... nary a sound... :zen

Zounds, tomorrow I get to play with paint.... :dance
