Nerdling: Tamiya 1/35 Type 97 Japanese Tank Done!

While waiting for the paint and clear to dry on the Corsair, I decided to start on this one for my second build. Kind of nice to do some armor from time to time. Photos kind of suck. It was dark outside when I took them and for some reason the tablet kept messing with the camera.

Making quick work on this beastie today. Just need to do some cleanup on a few mold lines and it will be ready for primer in no time.

Thought this was the same one.
Dad took this picture on his return flight from Korea in 1952. Stopped at Marcus Island for refuel and I guess they got to drive around the island.

Only maybe what, 7-10 years of exposure on this?

Very productive start Ryan :soldier

Awesome photo Bob. That is actually a Type 95 light tank. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_95_Ha-Go Did some research and found out there is actually one here in Oregon. Had no idea that was here.

Right you are Ryan, suspension is totally different. Hull looks kinda the same but I see the differences now.

Finally did some more work with this lil guy. My first time trying freehand camo. Now to work on the tracks and begin the fun stuff :geek

Calling it done. This turned out to be a fun little kit. Sure it has some small issues but for 15 bucks you can't beat these older Tamiya kits.

Yep I like that aswell. Maybe the sort of thing I should get to practice my technique upon, before launching in to some of my more challenging builds.

Ian.
