MFH Brabham BT52B

Sorry guys I don’t know what to say about the pics, they are showing up for me - are they still not there for you?
It is not you... I started this so our IT man, @moon puppy, can have a look as it may affect others. We'll sort it out. If necessary, and ONLY with your permission, I can 'plant' the photos from the image hosting site directly but first, let's exhaust the other options.

They are loading fine for me on my personal computer. Also, I was under the impression that our site preloaded the images, it would pull them down and cache the image on our server. I'll check those settings again.

Cheers guys. I had some major surgery back in July, which got rid of what it was meant to but it’s left me struggling with a few issues. Im just happy to still be here so I’m still winning!

Hopefully will crack the bt52 back out this week and do a bit more

Glad you are on the mend. I have another surgery on my left thigh to remove the fatty tumor that insists on coming back. This will be number 4
for the same thing. :bang head

Thank you. The last couple of days I’ve managed to pick this build back up, as is the way with these kits nothing happens quickly so I’ve no real progress to report just yet. But this build will definitely be gaining some momentum soon!

ha ha yes anyone who has built a MFH will know its very easy to spend hours on these kits and have nothing to show. :)

Hi all, I’ve managed to get out into my modelling cave and picked this build back up.
As already mentioned, nothing happens fast with these kits so I spent an hour or so drilling holes and that was that. But progress nonetheless.
I’ve moved onto the cockpit tub, you can see all the holes, these needed to be drilled out so I can rivets. Can’t say I’m looking forward to that lol.
It will need a coat of black primer, then carbon fibre decals to go on. I may well give it a satin or Matt clear coat depending on how it’s looking.

I’ve just placed the white metal parts on to gauge the fit and they look pretty good to me!

While I'm here may I ask some advice? I’ve been using a pin vice to drill so far but when faced with so many holes to drill I was wishing for some mechanical help. I’ve got a cheap cordless dremel type tool but as a precision drill it’s rubbish, too much run out. Can anyone reccomend a good handheld that will do the job? Proxxon maybe? I’ve seen the cheap but apparently good micro drill press which could work I guess. Thanks!

Looks good, for a good strong drill I've used my full size (and relatively cheap) drill press I picked up a lowes a while back. I can chuck up the small shank drill bits no problem. I've read very good things about the Proxxon line but never pulled the trigger. Foredom also has high end drills but hard for me to justify that expense.
