I don't know much about the air racing history. All I know is Buster was built by Steve Wittman and won a lot.I wonder if the Cassutt CJS has it's roots there. My Dad built one in our Garage and flew it off in 1971 as N2CP.
@paddyHey Bob, did you know about this company??
aircraft, UK – Marsh Models
UK based modelmakers, offering a wide range of handbuilt model cars and airplanes. White metal and resin kits also available.www.marshmodels.com
Looks like it would be a nice kit, might have to re-mortgage the house though!
Personally I like Black Magic scheme better but I wouldn't mind a big red Comet on the shelf. This is £165 plus postage if you are outside UK but plus VAT if in UK.
We can do this but do not have decals for Black Magic.
Looking pretty sharp Bob!More strip, fill, sand, repeat for the green one.
Who would have thought the red one is easiest to paint?

Thanks Paddy, this actually makes me feel good. Like I said elsewhere, I've stripped it 3-4 times now and i'm still tempted to strip it again but I want to sand it out now and see how it looks. Honestly I think the first attempt I did was probably the best but the base coat wasn't where it needed to be.I have to say with humbrol gloss you picked the most difficult paint to spray
