M577 HQ11 from 2d BN 47th IN (Mech) 9th ID

Thanks, Guys.

Today I decided to change the direction that the driver is looking. He was originally looking to his right when he was originally posed for a MEDCAP diorama, but since I used one of the figures he was interacting with, I decided not to use him fir that. He is going to be leaning against the front of the M577 and he really needed to look more to his left in order to interact with the kids selling stuff. So here his is.

I also started sculpting shirts and trouser pockets today. No photos of that yet.

Thursday I had also started painting the face of the driver. Today I completed that figure and am in the process of painting the Vietnamese kids before painting the guy in the flak vest.

Thank you.

Today was a pretty productive day. I got the three Vietnamese kids painted. Normally I would've had the kids selling stuff that was more commonly sold like sunglasses, watches, sodas, and stuff like that, but the items were already part of the 3D printed figures. The hats might be plausible, but the basket was full of different shaped items so I just painted them in an assortment of colors. Not sure what any of it is, but it is colorful. :)

So here are the kids and then how they will be positioned in the diorama.

Yesterday I painted some cots by Armand Bayardi to attach to the front of the M577 to cover the holes where the shovel was supposed to go. Fortunately I saw some photos of cots being carried there, so it works out well. The Bayardi cots are very well detailed, by the way.

Yesterday I also started painting the second GI. I completed him this evening. The thing that took the longest was painting the flak vest because the details were soft and not very well defined as the base figure is a 3D printed figure. I also had problems getting the colors to look like the green nylon used for the M69 flak vest. I think he turned out OK for a quickly painted figure.

Now to start working on the base and any other figures I might be able to complete before the shows.

Thanks MP and Gary.

I didn't get much done today as I had a lot of other stuff to do, but I did manage to mask off the base in preparation for applying groundwork tomorrow and I was able to weather the road wheels and tracks.

It is not totally completed yet, but is done enough for tomorrow's show in Oklahoma City. I still have some ammo cans for the M60 that I need to add that I was not able to get done in time as well as some more figures, but the main ones for the story are present so I feel comfortable showing this.
