There's a scene early where they are stealing a throttle cable from a knocked out Lee. Also I think they have to stop at one point to clean out the sand from the carbs. I'm debating having the rear hatch open.

I'm going to build up the PE stowage boxes. Breaking out the old soldering iron to do the major construction, Gator Grip for the little bits. The kit box next to it.

I hear ya MP, I found the same thing coming back to soldering with my U-boat stuff. Once I had a bit of practice though it all started to flow Ok.

My problem is getting the flat lid lined up, I've known a while I need one of those ceramic soldiering blocks. I'll get it today, gotta open up the ol' knoggin and figure out how to secure it in place. Dust out the cobwebs and git'er done!

Unless you are using a torch, the ceramic blocks are way overkill. Some ceramic floor tile will work just fine for anything you are doing with a soldering iron.

You're gonna need to pull out the alligator clap jig, that might work.

I need a little more than just the alligator clips Steve, assembling origami PE parts that don't want to cooperate is my problem.

I have been known to take it for the team in the past. Assembling the floor board of the brass halftrack so many years ago, this burn lasted a while.

I figured out how to get this thing squared up after sleeping on it.

I'm sure you all know what these things are. No the solder job inside is not pretty but it works.

PE box vers kit box.

Here they are dry fitted. Those tabs on the back are for the hinges. Ended up doing the slight solder application with them. CA glue just wasn't holding well.

A solder burn! My God Man! I've never seen that before.
Remember that the loomium razor saw box acts a a heat sink. It is a detriment to the flowing of your solder.
OH! You already found out about that!

That was actually the intent.
Found a major freakin' gap between the lower and upper hulls up front. Several things are out of kilter. Debating options.

I use some left-over heavy duty MDF board, white coated, works great. Ya, that burn feels great on the tip of the finger, but not like ya use it anyway, right?

Warm it up, flux it up, give it a shake, and try again. BE Fargin' careful of your eye-bobbers!
OR! Use the kit part? Mebbe?!

It aint' the PE, it's the front armor plate and roof plate. Mr Liquid Putty may have hidden things, we'll findout when I get some photos this weekend.
