Ok, ok, my turn .....

Picked this bad-boy up at the not-so- local hardware/hobby shop when I was in their town.
It is a beast at 54”. Apparently lots of P.E. available. Should be cool !
My dad (87 Y.O.) served on one of these post-WWII. I would like to build it for him (He is still going strong) with his boat’s numbers.

The bottles are 2 oz. nalgene squeeze bottles that I picked up at the local outdoor outfitter (REI in this case). Tamiya bottles shown for scale. I have found them VERY handy for dispensing … (fill in the blank : water, paint thinner, isop. alcohol, Tamiya thinner, laquer thinner, lime juice, vermouth, “what the…?.”. Great for a drop here or a squeeze there. Kind of random, but it beats the eye-dropper I was using.

You are right Dave.
I'm going to have to make a display-shelf so that it can be mounted on a wall, or something.
I hope I can do it justice finish-wise.

Cheers,

Bill

Dont have any pictures yet, but on Friday I acquired a paint rack from the hobby shop going out of business. I'd only planned on getting the rack, but there was still quite a bit of paint on the rack, so I asked my friend what he wanted for all the paint on the rack, and he said 10 bucks, so I paid 50 dollars and got the rack, and 72 bottles of Floquil paint. Overall not a bad deal at all. I'll see if I can get pic's of the rack and all the paint tonight.

Adam got the best deal, Chris and I picked up 152 bottles of Model Color (a grab bag mix!) for $46 and several other misc items fro next to nothing. Going to miss the shop and all the fun we had there, thanks for the memories, Glenn! :notworthy

Yeah that Gato sure is a beast. I picked one up a few years ago here in town for 50 bucks. Now it is just waiting for me to find a way to display it when she is built. Lots of goodies are out there for it but oob it would still look great.

These came from my favorite eBay store, Yorkie Hobbies, of Hong Kong, on the last day of April:
