Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Well-- the Valentine's Day gift I ordered for myself and told my wife she gave me arrived today... a few Archer transfers...a Japanese flag for my pillbox vignette, and markings for my 1/48 USMC Sherman and 6X6...and the Great Wall Hobby TBD-1...my wife sure does love me! :yipee

Two things about that Jaguar conversion which is based on the example that was at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland:

[ol]
[li]Designed for the Tamiya kit before Trumpeter released the IS-3M[/li]
[li]Has a T-54 engine deck which was added by the Israelis and not on the original Egyptian IS-3M[/li]
[/ol]

I never heard of Secret Weapon products, please let us know how they are!

Regards,

D'OH :pinch: Saul, thanks for the info on the Jaguar conversion. I paid only ten bucks for it. Get what ya pay for hey.
I will let you all know about the Secret Weapons washes and pigments. They are mainly for fantasy figures. They had a lot of
oddball names. I will be home by the end of the week. Hopefully,I can at leats review the washes. :v

First thought was OMG!! This is a whole lot more kit than I was expecting. It has a complete interior including a pretty detailed engine. I just ordered a book for it so I can attempt to do justice. It has markings for a Canadian, 2 UK, and 1 captured vehicle used by the Fallschirmjager. That one is cammed. The only part I am concerned about is the multi part hull because of alignment...well that and the itty bitty pieces. Well worth the money.

Sweet! I think I have another one of these in 1/72 scale in m y stash. I'd love to make it a captured German vehicle. I'd be interested in seeing that scheme.

I was showing the shuttle off last night to some friends and one shows up today with a couple of 'donates' lol. he says the only one he's interested in later is the Intruder, he just wants to see it built as he flew one during his Navy days!

I took the shrink wrap off the Intruder, the SU 27 seems complete. free kits are a good thing! :yipee

I got this today and I wont say what I paid for it but it was something that I HAD to add to the stash.

Ill do this one some time in the next few months. I do like the pre-painted glazing and the micro motors.

Pre painted Glazing? You know you're a modeller when :gogo .....Hey, but at least you'll have all four a turnin :pilot when you make your bomb run on the cat :D

Pretty cool!

Saturday I went down to a local hobby shop and picked up three early birthday presents. I'd been working a lot and earned a pretty good take so it was time to celebrate.

In armor I picked up these:

Dragon Type 2 Ka Mi amphibious tank in 1/72 scale:

Trumpeter M1A1 Abrams with minerollers in 1/72 scale:

And in aircraft, I picked up this:

Airfix Vickers Valiant in 1/712 scale:

The M1A1 and the Vickers Valiant have already been started. The M1A1 is actually ready for paint already. Feel free to check them out in Wesendorf Field and Ground Power.

Got a couple of figures in the mail today and some paint. While I havent had a lot of luck with the Andrea sets I keep trying. I think its my own understanding of how to use them rather than the paint itself that causes me problems. Also impulse bought a new airbrush from the new hobby shop. Its a Chinese brand and what little I could find on the net seems good. Its a dual action 0.2.
