Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

somebody racked up on some tanks!

Those ARV tracks, are they styrene or resin? Those metal tracks are just to rich for my wallet. Wish Dragon would sell their Magic Tracks as an AM product.

The tracks are plastic. At one time,Dragon did sell some of the DS styrene band tracks seperatley. Not sure if they still do.

Thanks Zod-

Well I got my guns,

The 88 came from Sprue Bros, the little PAK 40 from my local. That little 40 was only $6.75.

This is everything in the 88 flak 37 box! There are easily more than 200 pieces here, though I could not find a parts count. It has an aluminum barrel, 2 styrene barrels, some PE, colored gauges and clear gauges plus some others. There is NO crew.

This is my first Dragon kit, if all their stuff is this nice I'm gonna start building armor!

They still offer their Magic & DS tracks along with some other items like OVM and weapons over at Cyber-Hobby.

Thanks for the heads up- I took a look and reality be darned, no amount of detail is worth a 400% markup over the original kits price.

Or maybe I'm reading the $ signs wrong, what denomination are these?

HK$ is Hong Kong Dollars. HK$178 = $22.88 US
www.XE.com is excellent for conversions and is up to the second.

I found a converter and corrected my suprized little outburst! lol- I was thinking '300 bucks for tank tracks!??' lol noob. And i thought photo etch was expensive!

I have seen the bagged majic tracks from a kit- and I would drop US$15.00 on a set. As a scratch builder a few bags of those could come in handy for sci-fi stuff ect.

Hi all,

I usually buy these tracks ONLY when I am buying one of their Super Saver sets in which the tracks are then 50% off. So you get a truly fabulous deal.

Being abroad, patience is needed as they are not Sprue Brothers fast/
;)

Thats why I don't buy anything out of the cont. US. I don't like the idea of single item international mail, enough trouble just shipping things in country. But they have tons of stuff overseas that we don't see here.

Shipping will get ya on international items. A few months ago,I bought three Academy M51 Shermans from S.Korea. The shipping was pricey. But then I did buy three kits for $16 per kit.If you are buying more than one or two items, then ordering a cheap kit from Asia is worth it. :v

Totally off topic but my latest acquisitions are another 3 Spitfire reflector gun sights today. Now i have eight............dont ask ..lol once cleaned up i will put one on e-bay and see how it goes. I also have a couple of Turret reflector sights now from a Lancaster but used in Wellington etc as well. Also a couple of single ring sights today from a aircraft with nose mounted guns like a Mosquito. they are identical to the twin ring sights but dont have the point of convergence settings you need for wing mounted guns.

The three i picked up today are boxed but need servicing..so thats me busy for a while. :)

Always wanted one of those things...would go nicely next to my great-grandad's WWI helmet and the signed Robert Morgan pic...How much do they normally net for you off eBay?

Depends on condition and type. the last 2 i sold went for £500 each, one to a guy in the USA and one to a guy in Australia. Its a lot of money but they are few and far between and very collectable now. Probably a better investment than cash festering in the bank at .5% TBH :)
I could probably do ytou a single ring one with its box for £450. There are 2 on ebay at present for £750 and £850

so £450 is cheap..

In that way bulk really is best- i think it would be a kick to receive a large box full of Santa stuff!

Today I went to Hobby Lobby with a 40%-Off coupon in my hands. I wanted to get an Iwata Neo AB. Well,I got my AB for $36 but then I stumbled on their sales table and saw the following:

Reduced from $259 to $89.99

And I got my Ab as well.

Thanks paddy...I was just curious as to what they were worth. It'll have to stay a wish though despite your kind discount as we're getting on towards Christmas and it is already going to be a pretty lean year for the kids...good luck selling them online though--hope you get a good sum for your efforts ;)
