Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Speaking of new things, I recently was able to purchase a new compressor. Instead of a hardware/home center shop compressor, I sprung for a Badger Aspire 910.

Now i can move the paint shop from the cold dark cellar up into the house. while its not silent, it is very quiet. Just a low purr that the missus won't object too. I'm really itching to give it a try, so Ive pulled out and old build that been gathering dust. I'm also going to be giving a try with acrylics. I've been an enamel guy all my life so this will also be my first attempt with a new paint. I'll throw up some pics of the result. Wish me luck!

Nice stuff James! (y)

The drill bit set in the box looks nice! I like it that they give you some multiples instead of just a single bit. The pin vices look to be pretty decent as well.

I did get to the bench today! and gave the new rig a test run. All new, new paint my first try at acrylics, new compressor, and the new spray booth. Hot damn I'm a happy boy!!
I pulled this old Monogram SB2C off the shelf of doom as a test mule and tried out my luck spraying with acrylics, and I'm sold on them. I did a lot of research on different brand and found this brand. It's call Bombshell Brew, and at $1.69 a bottle I figured what do I have to loose if I muck it up. They are pre thinned and ready to spray. Clean up was a snap too.
Anyway I had fun with everything this afternoon, which is usually not the case. I usually dread painting, all the mixing and thinning and the mess of cleaning the AB afterward. Not to mention the fumes. Yeah I'm HAPPY!

eBay purchase, less than $5USD total shipped. Not perfect but I think I can find uses. If not for plastic modeling, perhaps fashion modeling? I mean, EVERYONE loves crystals!

I have been witing patiently for 3 books from Valient Publishing, one on the BV-141 and 2 others. I am afraid they have either been co-opted from my mail box or lost in shipment. Ordered them at the end of August.
Checked with him about a month ago. Guess time to do so again. :bang head

I'm taking a course on Hadrian's Wall which is amazing. Its free from Future Learn And has rekindled my interest in the Romans, Celts, Picts, etc. So I got a bunch of books and this is the newest one. Looks very interesting and covers all of the Roman Legions.

Also Sprue Brothers had a sale and I got a BTR 82A conversion. Just saw a pic of one in Syria today as well so might start that after Hawk and M1114 are done.

I also had a mail delivery sheet for the rest of my M1114 stuff. Because I was hurting too much and I didn't want to go out in the snow any more today I'll get it after work tomorrow.
