I received this from Kenny (Gator's Masks) without the usual packaging but I am definitely going to use them!

Please note that I believe two sheets of the 48th scale are included in the commercial release. I only received one which is fine as I only have the 72nd scale Tamiya kit.

Been in the doldrums all summer and lost my internet service for a month. Switched service's and now am back on line.

The bench has accumulated "stuff" all summer and needs to be cleared off. Collected a few models. All the wood kits were given to me by model club members. Most all the guys do strictly plastic kits, not wood.

This one retals for $219.00

This one retails for $90.00

This one retails for $189.00

This one $189.00

This one $24.95. I'm doing 3 of these as a build in Ships.

This one $39.00. I'll do this one.

Don't know the value of this, but got it for $3.00 at the club raffle. It will go to my grandson.

The wood kits should keep me busy for at least 20 years.

And the welder at work cut these 2" x 3" x 3/8" steel blocks to help hold pieces in place while I solder.

Those blocks are handy as weights too. I also had a few pieces of steel angle iron cut 1 x 1, 1 1/4 x 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 in 2 0r 3 inch lengths for the same purpose, plus, they hold parts square for soldering and while glue dries during assembly too.

The parts I ordered from 3D in scale came in

The parts come the way of Shapeways

Not sure what to think of these parts. They are very soft and as you can see has some (okay a lot of) fluid on them and in the bag.

Let them dry out and do not use a chemical to clean them other than alcohol. The parts are a type of resin and should not be rubbery. If they are, return them.

In any case, take a photo as I would love to know what they represent.

Sherman, that is curious. I do believe you should follow Saul's advice; the man knows his stuff! I'm interested in knowing what they're for as well.

Kenny, those shirts ROCK!!!! :yipee I love them! I gotta pick up a couple myself!

My second place 'prize' from the weekend:

h00e00ad.JPG

I'll build this as a 388TFW (JJ) machine out of Korat (or Udorn) in the early 1970's.

Just arrived this morning from a really 'stand-out' bloke whom I've never met.

Initially I had asked on Britmodeller for decals for my 1:48 Draken. So not only did he give me the decals, he also gave me the recce nose, early aft fuselage, fin tip and canopy. Then after chatting for a while I ended-up buying a Hasegawa FG.1 Phantom which he threw-in the 43 Sqn. decals I desperately wanted and a half-price Airfix Harrier GR3 which also includes a corrected resin nose, resin 'pit and Heritage Aviation white-metal fuselage strakes which aren't included in the kit.

What a 'score', and so very much cheaper than you'd imagine. (y) I will need to get a resin seat for the Draken, and a pair of seats for the F-4, but that's in the future.
