Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Post man folded this as I was telling him not to and stuffed it into my mailbox:

Regards,

Cool Saul. Still waiting for mine. And now that the mail strike might be expanded who knows when I'll get it. :(

James

Today, the mailman interrupted my shower and rang my doorbell twice. My usual postal employees will leave the package along with the slip and pick up the signed slip the next day. Not this one, he insists on getting the slip signed so I went to the door with a towel draped around me and dripping. He was obviously in shock and I asked if he expected my wife. He was not amused.

Anyway, the package is from Orange Hobby (recall that I mentioned they had a new online shop?). Inside were the Jagdpanzer IV L/70 (V) I asked for along with their new South Korean warship in 1/700th scale for me to review and pass on to another to build here first. Nice!

As I was getting dressed, I hear a truck pull up into my driveway and it was the postal truck! This time he just dropped off the flat package and pulled out of my driveway. Perhaps he learned his lesson?

Anyway, inside the second package was the book I ordered on the Fries crane and it is a beauty!

Yes, I know... :nopics.

Later, once I come back from picking up tranquilizers from the vet . Not for me silly! For my loose dog as my neighbors have already lodged ten complaints over the weekend over my trespassing pup.

Regards,

Got these from a s.Korean ebay seller $48 for all three.Even with shipping,it was still cheaper than buying them stateside.
These will be for some what if builds. One for an M32 with E8 suspension based on an M36 hull. On the other two,I am going to
see if I can make some cuts along the inside of the upper hull.I want to make the side armor sloped.

The kit says 1/100 scale. says the cannons are 120mm. I have not "scaled out" the inner barrel diameter, but to my eyes, they are a
wee bit big for 120mm in 1/100.

Will do a review on this book.I need to get ahold of the publisher to see if I may use some photos for the review.

Cool haul Chad! Do you have the Academy M10/Achilles/M36 upper hull? I have one to spare...

Regards,

Chad, cover the shipping. That is all. It is a spare one from the replacement Tank workshop conversion. I do need to check if there are hatches but, being a what-if, you could scratch those. PM me your address to send it out.

Regards,

Since :nopics,

Here are the photos of what I received:

OHshipbox.JPG

This 1/700th scale Dokdo South Korean ship model is full to the brim with resin, machined metal, and PE.

My order for a Jagdpanzer IV L/70, the only Pz IV family I have found (so far) with a face.

The book... two word: GET IT!

DerStrabokranpage.JPG

A walkaround with 35th scale scrap and full views of several models and historical photos to put it in context while providing inspiration to model, scratchbuild, and place in a diorama! I have already told a resin manufacturer to get the book. I would love to see it in high strenth resin.

Regards,

Just got the Flak book by Nuts and Bolts, a T-33 book by Schiffer, 1/32 Hasegawa F-104 and cockpit. No pics right now. Maybe tonight. Just beat the strike escalation. Wont be anything else for a while I guess.
James

That sucks as an F-5N is on its way... :(

Today, I got my Archer Fine Transfers order. I did not realize the new stuff so I simply got the V3000S instruments, Tiger I Late Production Number 212, Free French flags, Panther Ausf G white 702, plus perfect weld beads in 0.015, 0.025, 0.030, and 0.040 inch wide.

Photos to follow later.

Regards,

I was looking pretty closely at those weld beads at AMPS and was wondering how well they'd look under paint in 1/48 and smaller....when you use them, be sure to point them out to us Saul!
