Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Much to my delight, a casual call into Dick Blicks, today revealed that they do indeed sell Windsor and Newton Series 7 paintbrushes

22 bucks later, I got myself a nice spanking brand new 3/0 :D :D :D

I also got a bottle of acrylic Burnt Sienna paint, brand name "Golden" never tried it before so thought Id investigate,...it comes in a nice 30ml bottle but sadly not a dropper style top

Anyway there is a wide range of paints and misc bits like retarder and flow enhancer etc etc
plus pumice paste etc etc similar to vallejo`s

I really dont like buying stuff like paint and brushes over the net as I like to see the tone of the paints and shape of the brushes

So I was a very happy chappie

ANDY ,

:woohoo: $22 for one 3/0 brush ? :pinch: Is that from the Royal Mink Sable on loan for the Wedding ? EEK. That's a steep one. I guess it's worth it right ?

Let us know how that paint is ...Please !!

yeah well the figure painters forums all say that the Series 7 is the best on the market so if I want to get better at what i do then I think I can justify that price if its going to last me a good while

Tested a bit of the paint seems to dry a lot slower that the Vallejos so better for blending plus its looks not bad ,..I got the sienna for face shading more than anything as its something that I feel lets me down at times

Yeah, You are exactly right ANDY. Your only as good as Your Tools. :woohoo: there's a joke in there somewhere ! I too need/want to step up My figure painting game & graduate into the Better Brush Club ! I need to seriously get some New Brushes !!

:hmmm The Paint sounds inviting !

Thanx for the clarification !!

This is my response to my wife saying "Honey, I want to have another baby.".

The u-boat it is sitting on is the last "big" scale ship I did.

Well I know the conical ones were just stoppers to plug the fuse conduit, the one on the right is the tail fuse ain't it?

Remember I was a nuke loader, I hardly ever saw the hardbombs. We trained on them but that was it.

OH...never mind. I started out as a nuke loader, but ended up iron bombs, LOTS of iron bombs. Ones on right ore most commonly used nose fuse(could be used in rear configuration). Plugs, lugs and I'm not sure what the others are
