Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

I thought we would get more but it was only 14 inches. It was enough that many did not go to work (the reason behind the postal office and the UPS Store being closed).

Looking at huge icicles now. My son wants to break one off and put it in the freezer. Where do kids come up with this?

Regards,

Today, in a trade, I received a 48th scale Tamiya Tilly, an original "The Vermont Accent" 1/48th scale farm cart, and a T-shirt which made me smile.

Uh oh! I can repair this.

Also, the latest stepSanders came by. This is version 2 and is slightly larger than the original:

Step sanders are awesome!! I use them every time I sit down at the bench...gonna have to get me some
of those new ones.

As for stepSanders, check out my review with links as to where to buy:

Regards,

That is great Saul! I just picked up a Tilly in 1/72 scale. I might even start it soon. As for the T-shirt; put it on a hanger, hang it on a door and shoot! C'mon! Don't leave us hanging! :blink :woohoo:

I have to pick up some of those step sanders also. There are so many crazy seams I need to sand on my Dora. You'll see some of them once I get my pics posted under my "Maddog manufacturing Thread.

Look what I found in the mail today ! :)

I hope you guys are not too bored with my Emperor's eagles yet . I suspect there might be a few more in the future.

That looks like a really old IPMS Special sheet, where did you buy it? On EvilBay? Have Micro Decal Film ready when you test them.

I am not bored, they are different enough to be interesting!

I'm not bored with your Emperor's Eagles either. That looks great, and I also second Saul's recommendation for applying a decal film over those.

I can never get bored of Japanese planes. Never see them built so it is always nice to see something different.

The beast arrived yesterday. This thing is just massive.

Yes that is a 1/35 Panzer sitting on the box. I so want to dive into this kit but for such a nice kit I want to get some research material first. Anybody know of any good aftermarket stuff out there or does it even need any.

Hi Nerdling,

I've got this kit to, the build is ready and I "only" have to paint it. It's a great kit and I didn't use any aftermarket stuff, except for the tracks, I replaced them with Fruil tracks. If you want to make it in firing mode metal grenades would be nice to replace the plastic ones! I'm not sure but I think Trumpeter makes aluminium grenades for it.

On PMMS Terry made a list of aftermarket stuff he reviewed for this beast;

Best I can say is look on the net for builds. This one is better than the Dragon kit but still needs a few tweeks. If you dont do the tweeks it will still look great. As Erik said I would replace the tracks with Fruil tracks. There are a few companies that make the metal shells. If you do it mounted on the railway adapter the tacks will need to be secured with turnbuckles so scratching would be in order. The best book I have found it by Panzer Tracts http://www.panzertracts.com/PZorder.htm
Looking forward to seeing this build :D
