It has been a terrible, awful, lousy day... and it snowed.

May 9th and it snowed last night. Poop.

We are moving and that means packing up the Man Closet. I have one kit to finish before I get totally kicked out so we can turn it back into a bedroom. Humph.

So to top off this Wonderful Day, I was shaking a bottle of Alclad Gunmetal and BAM! BIFF! POWIE! The bottle broke in my hands. Stuff went all over the floor and rug and God knows what else.

It could have been worse, I could have released the bottle and slammed it against the wall.

Definitely needs to be better . I would suggest a move South if you're able.

How does a glass bottle break in a hand ?

Alclad bottles with the shaker balls are notorious for breaking when shaken too hard. Saw one go off in Great Hobby Adventures years back, now I am very cautious.

It is so good to know it wasn't just me. Meanwhile, my LHS (60 miles away) open tomorrow. Road Trip!!!!!

Move South?

Gads :frantic::frantic:! I lived in Florida and South Alabama for 19 years. Never again! Give me four seasons (Baseball, Football, HS Wrestling, & Traffic Cones)! Bi-Monthly Block Parties, and the Cuyahoga Valley in the fall.

Wow Barney! I have one of the big bottles and it has a bunch of smaller balls in it. Sounds like large sand in it when they finally break loose. I guess they did away with the larger ones due to bottles breaking.

Actually I like the weather here in Memphis, it's just the lowlifes that prowl the inner city that make it Meh. It's been in the 50-60s the last few days.

I have a large bottle of primer and the bottle is plastic. Like your's, mine sounds like an maraca when I shake it. Yup, me and Carmen Miranda! I'm off to Massilon today to pick up some lacquer from my LHS (50+ miles) and anything else I can think of.

AK Extreme Metal! That's what I've been trying to remember!

Barney, I hope things improve soon. I'm so sorry to hear of the misfortunes. I hope things improve soon.

I'll be certain to give AK Metals a try once I get the Man Closet set-up in the next house.

Better you than me. My wife would have a S hemorrhage. Cheer up things could be worse. I cheered up and things got worse. Just kidding. What part of FL did you live? We are from S. FL originally and now live in N GA. So we are Miami refugees. The only bad part about here is people think that the trash can is out the car window. Gary S. XXXXV XX XX

I lived in Hollywood from 64-67 and Moore Haven 06-07. I called Troy, AL "home" from 1981 - 2006 and was stationed in Knob Noster, Mo from 1983-1987... paddle faster I hear banjo music! :yipee:
