F-117

Okay need an aircraft fix. So Trumpeters 1/32 F-117to the rescue. Added Eduard PE to the cockpit. Looks better than my painting would. And it actually went on not bad. Now to rob an F-18 of its joystick and throttle as the kit joystick sucks and they didnt put in a throttle.

PE added, masked were necessary and painted.

Some weathering to do and the seat to paint next.

James

Gave a wash, installed throttles and stick, painted seat, got intakes, compressors and exhaust glued up. Pics soon. I used the throttles from a 1/32 F-18 as the kit has none, and I used the stick grip also as the kit one is crummy.
The blue panels look close enough to black to the human eye from a couple of inches away. Eduard has the funkiest colours, but I would never be able to paint it by hand now adays to do it such justice.
Anyways pics soon.

Looking forward to seeing this one completed. (y) :popcorn

All the best!

Thanks Dusan. I have been looking and looking for a scheme that caught my eye and never saw this one. Will have to think a bit.

Found that one in my walkaround book. Have to find a sharks mouth decal or maybe get a mask made. Right now I'm teetering between the grey and the toothy.

Welcome James ;) I have Gray Dragon in my collection and one unbuilt hasegawa in stash. I had a desire to do the F-117 in IDF cammo but the decals were a problem.

F-117 with shark mouth is very cool!

All the best!

No what-if, it's for real but experimental scheme. F-117 went through a number of different color schemes including this one and grey one.

Prototype also had a three tone camo but smaller size airframe and 35% diferent shape.

All the best!
Dusan.

Okay a bit more on the cockpit. I've taped it in place and taped the fuse halves together.

I also managed to drop the canopy frame and then roll over it killing it. Very discouraged now.

I have added the intakes and exhaust and following atip from another site left the engine out. Only the compressor is glued on. You wont see anything anyway and this will save weight which should be less stress on the gear.

And just an idea of the size.
