Hi, here with an update on the Dora base, the camo posts are assembled, painted and glued in place, the top of the wall received some static grass and the bottom some foliage.

the diagonal tubes are glued to each post, I made the diagonal piece this short because of space limitations just to representate it. the real ones goes all the way to the ground.

next the ladders are constructed using evergreen 2.0mm rods, the ladders where used near the entrance
to the shelter.

foliage was added to the base of the wall as seen in photos of the real gun

Stunning work man! I think you are the first to display this massive gun with camo nets and bunker. Most impressive!

Thanks guys:bigrin:,

Duke when I started planning the base wanted to make it interesting and something that no one
Has done to display the gun:coolio1:.

And you've succeeded in spades my friend! Brilliant! If I had room, I'd probably try to replicate that base in 1/72 scale for my Dora. I don't have the space to even display her so my Dora sits inside her wooden box.

Hi!

Back again with an update on the Dora base, the laminating of the back and sides has being completed. I left a small border around the base for an acrylic cover to be installed, the cammo net is made using moss glued with spray glue to the net and then painted a darker green.

the back of the base is finished with the formica laminate

because of space limitations the diagonal tubes for the nets had to be cut so the net doesnt hang outside the perimeter of the base, the net is attached to this diagonal tubes in the real gun but here I cant make it like that because I would need a bigger base than it already is.

Man this is so awesome to see! If I only had the space to make a similar display for my Dora! Because I don't, she has to stay sleeping in her "baby coffin" as my friend calls it!
