I am still checking about what looks like an extra window but appears as sheet metal reinforcement in all the photos of the L-4H Grasshopper...

Did anyone notice that this is an other bazooka armed Grasshopper and not Rosie the Rocketer? Serial 42-15188 is an L-4A

I don't know, that looks totally transparent. Looks like we can see inside the wing root.
I think I remember reading they did some extra trials arming pups but they stopped because the germans started shooting at all pups thinking they were now all armed.

Well, here are some close up images of what is claimed to be Rosie the Rocketer, HOWEVER this is an L-4J on display at Valiant Air Museum whose serial number is actually 44-80595 and not an L-4H as would be the case is the serial number were actually 43-330426. It is why I didn't post them as this is one of two Rosie the Rocketer imposters.

Yet, it is quite POSSIBLE (no idea how probable) that L-4J parts (if indeed those are clear plexiglass) could be sourced and used during WWII as the L-4J entered production in 1944. Also, note that the tires need to be smooth with no tread pattern and all nuts silver as restorations using current AN hardware have 'gold' tone to them.

Well @moon puppy, you have some work to do based on these photographs of the actual restored Rosie the Rocketer! Use some clear acetate from a sheet protector and the kit's plastic leading edge root fairing as a template. Cut plastic kit part leaving an edge to mount the acetate. Easy-peasy...

So you know, I am intrigued by the clear inserts and am trying to find out if anyone calls them Plexiglas (perhaps to increase the view out above?) but so far nothing. I'm just glad I won't have to deal with that!

I can hear the groan and "Oh HELL NO!" from Bob now.
Saúl those photos are really tempting me to try a Rosie build, but not now, and not for a LONG while. Even the imposter's photos give some really good info and weathering examples so keep them coming.
 
Crying shame I don't support the plant up there in Hudson MA, I'd blow the network up and tell them the only way I can fix it is to go there and get hands on. Bad thing is, I saw the museum on the maps when I was there.

I'm gonna look at it and figure out how far I'm going here.
 
Looks like the kit is only a basic starting point for a build if you are one for detailing. (after looking at the review)
Bronco did re-release the kit with some improvements added but I doubt it was to the moldings. From what I saw, it was a revised PE sheet, decals, some cable for rigging and a resin pilot added.
