Destroyed Iraqi T-69II

I, for one, can't wait to get my hands on a set of the commercial release. As for the video, is this a commercial product or a YouTube upload under mrscratchmod?

Regards,

It will be on youtube. I will have a separate page on the site just for the Celticwerks product, and from there the set can be ordered. I will have the link to the video on that page and also the reviews page.
Pm heading your way.

Re: Destroyed Iraqi T-69II...new update

Work on this project is finally picking up again, in the form of added debris and some detailing.

The reference pics I have for the tank I am modeling do not show much of the motor compartment, so I am winging it here. I used some aluminum foil for some of the twisted metal and also the remains of the tank on the left hand wall. Styrene strip and small diameter wire was used for the remains of the braking system of the hull floor. There are some other details from the braking system that still have to be added, again using the limited reference I have of this tank.

I also added some of the turret details such as the lifting hooks with added welds, remains of the roof ventilator and some other stuff.

The following pics show the small progress that has been made so far. Having to cast the motor compartment definitely has paid off and now I have enough resin sets for a lot of other wrecks.

Still some details to add, along with a bit more debris. Hoping to have this ready for painting this weekend.

It's coming along nicely, Rob! I like the subtle details!! Can't wait to see the paint! (y)

Thanks Mike it's slowely getting there.

I spent a couple of hours on the braking system. I actually built this so it worked, BUT the realized it would be a pain to paint and possibly break, so a couple of drops of CA stiffened it right up.

Off to the workbench to get the remains of the firewall done, and some debris.

Erik, no pressure right. I too am looking forward to the painting. I have to side line this a day in order to redo a new master part for the resin set.

Thanks James, i appreciate the kind words.

I had planned to paint this weekend but due to having to make a new master side wall for the resin set AND I decided the interior was missing something....life :hmmm
By this I mean details like wiring, details in the driver area and the biggest thing are the gear teeth on the upper hull turret ring. After pondering how to best do it, I settled on a technique that is tried and tested. Chopping small diameter rod into 4mm lengths and gluing them in place :gogo . This of course is not perfect but will look the part :idonno . I have already done an 1 1/2" section but have to stop for the evening.
I will post some pics up tomorrow evening of the progress.

maybe paint on Sunday :idonno

Cheers

Hi folks, just thought I would post some pics of the model before the paint went on. I added all the debris and details to the interior and also finished off the turret. I still have to correct the TC hatch area for the T-69 model.
I have already primed and started with the base colors on the interior of the lower hull, but no pics yet of this area, maybe later today.

Here she is.

Thanks man glad you like all the goodies in this build.

I have been trying to get logged in to add some painting pics but had tech problems, I think.

Anyhow I spent most of the day painting this model and also one of the Celticwerks T-55 stripped motor comp. The quality of the pics is not the greatest and show the gray too dark and too blue. Here is a sneak peak at how the T-69 is looking.

And here are a few pics of the Celticwerks mock-up compartment.

Hopefully I will get more time to finish the hull interior and start on the turret.

Thanks for looking and taking the time to post feedback, it is appreciated.

Cheers
