Daytona 1957 Ford Fairlane

You're right Dave and thanks, here's a shot of flat Green from Testors

I haven't glossed it yet but I think i'm far closer now than before.

You are right about the new color, however I do like the two tone effect. :hmmm

B)

Oh it'll be two tone for sure. Just imagine this with a gloss coat, I think it's going to be spot on.

That lower color Green is getting closer, but might need a little more darkening up. But it is getting there. Looks real good so far.

That green is lighter than the Fireball car, but if you're happy with it, then it's good. What cream are you planning to use? (y)

I'm still thinking the top is white, Colonial White

There's a cream color in the Ford Fleet but I don't think it is cream. Remember this slide is maybe 55 years old and Dad developed it himself. Yeah he did a great job but the tones could have shifted anywhere along the process.

Here's another angle that's getting direct sunlight instead of in the shade

That green lightens up pretty quick doesn't it? The last car on that line is Fireball, next to him is his team mate Joe Weatherly

Here's another shot of Fireball on the track.

I dunno Bob, did you ever consider going to an auto supply store and checking out the small cans of touch up paint? you might be able to come up with something pretty close for the green and the white. :drinks

Well how does this look?

I know, no where close. Now that I can see the two colors here, I think more blue is needed

I'm going bonkers!!! I don't know why I didn't think of this before.

I checked out the Berkshire Green paint chip from .this link. Then I use the imaging software Gimp to find the hex code of the color (which is #496857). Then I used the link Mike found for us at http://scalemodeldb.com/paint to cross reference it.

It's freakin' Medium Green!

Sure looks like it. Are you going with what you have or since you ran out of Dark Yellow...?

Yep, heading up to Arden NC today, passing at least 2 LHS on the way so I should be able to stock up. (y)

This is the last attempt at the green.
Euro Medium Green is what it's called.

Masked up the green and shot the gloss black alclad for the chrome treatment next. Then I'm going to rip off all the masking and slap some decals on this SOB!!!

:mpup

I think that green will work out just right when you put on the clear coat.
