Buddies building Pig tanks

hmmm I somehow cant help but I'd probably should change the title of this :) does not look like someone else is jumping an a pig tank :)

i would love to but the answer to my question at the LHS if they could order the tasca pig tank was just "what is tasca?" - tale telling!

the answer to my next try, asking hermann directly was "sorry but the pig tank is not on the distributor list of kits i can order!"

that was when i gave up on this task! :(

well don't worry Bob and Laura - I'll leave it as it is for now and wait until autumn - you'll never know ;) ah and Laura, it's in stock at Koenig but its very pricey these days I payed a lttle bit more than the half about 2 years ago - so its really too expensive now.

and Thanks Mike :)

Well, it's been some time since my last post in here. I was not in the mood to do anything but I'm still alive and kicking :)

Thanks a lot!

Twhat you did to the wood deck looks great

Well it is wood :) or better wood veneer , well I guess thats the name for it, those thin wood plates you glue on furnitur - some washings and filters and thats it

Did you seal it with something?

well the complete tank did get a seal before the chipping and so on and with that the wood did get a seal too, but not up front - by the way its birch. On page 3 there is a pic of it after glueing it on, the dark lines are just pencil

Ahhh! Well then, I think I will abandon the thought of doing the same effect on the Graf Spee, have any idea of how many lines i'd be drawing?!

hmm - no idea, several I'd guess :) Graf Spee in 1/350? well not sure if it would work, but you can just paint it like wood I think. LifeColor LC64 is a good tone to start with and then some washings and a drybrush with lighter shades should do it too.
