Hi James

Looks pretty good to me,

Russian kit isn't as kept up as it use to be and if the unit participated in a long exercise in southern Russia last year during the draught they had, I can easily see a dirty BRDM like yours. (y) (y)

NO you do not,James!
I would have used lesser pigments on the top half of the backside,it depends on what you used as pigment sealer, but maybe you can remove some of it.
And maybe add some more pigments on the space behind the wheels.
To make your pigment weathering more interesting use 2 or 3 colors, you can use dried to still wet mud.
It depends on what kind of soil your Sovietski recce car was travelling.

It really doesn't look that bad as you think it is,James. :)

Greetings,Ron.

James, you've got an excellent start to your weathering! It's not just a step, it's more of a process. You add a wash, some shading, some pigments. Then you go back in and add some different colors here and there. Streaks and grime. Chips and scuffs, smudges and fresh mud and/or dust. It's the part I enjoy- take your time and experiment- you can't really get dirt on an AFV model wrong. If you goo too far, knock it back with a thin spray of the base color with a little bit of tan mixed in. Dirt builds up on the real thing in layers, just like on models! ;)

PS- happy anniversary!

Okay that is one kit I will buy. As for weathering, it still escapes me. Too heavy too soon I think. Will keep on trying though.
