I too have lost the way to the modelling bench now Spring is here in the UK !
Another 1:1 motorcycle build is under way ! this is a 1959 Ducati 200 Elite...or at least it will be in a few months i hope.
Engine work is going well. I just found a carb for it in Germany. All the paintwork and frame are at the sand blasters, all the chrome is at the chromers the wheels are being rebuilt with Stainless steel spokes. I have found most of the bits but i am still short of period clutch and brake levers and a few other minor parts

I do look in regularly to see what you are all doing and i will be back at the bench before long.

I will not bore you all to death with detail, this is more an excuse for my absence this summer :cheer: Guilt is getting the better of me.

anyway i do look in here and cant wait to get going on my D-Day build but i cant really have two projects on the go, it never works for me, i have to be 100% focused, this is why i never build more than one kit at a time.... i also dont have space now this bike has taken over the sofa

So there we have it, a 1:1 build of a 1959 Ducati Elite 200cc. Now sold to make way for the next...

Seeing this, I wished that I respected the traffic regulations in military service some more, so that I could have got my motorcycle driving licence there.

Many thanks guys. its not easy starting a business but its slowly starting to work . building bikes like the little Ducati is not cost effective really. Selling parts is but getting hold of the right parts to sell at a good price is very difficult.You buy an engine to break for spares and you will inevitably be left with at least half of it as every one wants the same bits. So its a learning curve knowing what to buy and what price to sell at..

i have picked up a Mk1 and Mk10 Hase hurricane 1/48 off Ebay and a 1/12 Morris Mini car..lol by tamiya. dont ask why, it just seemed like a good idea at the time I quite like the idea of detailing it as its a scale i can work with without glasses and as a Brit i sort of know all about minis. Not many people over here of my age that didn't own a mini at some point ..you still see a few about but like most 1960's cars here they were already rusting in the showrooms so not many lasted 10 years let alone 50 !!
I suppose i am lucky being constantly busy but i miss the regular hours of paid employment right now i seem to start at 8 AM and finish about 9 PM. and seem to get paid for about quarter that...lol
Thank god for MA, somewhere to come and look and forget about work Has Chuk got his next project lined up yet ?

He did mention that IAR.81 Paddy but I don't know that it's set in concrete Paddy.
