What did you end up using for the mats?

Thanks!! I used the Tamiya tape sticky to sticky, the painted with enamel paint. They turned out not terrible LOL. I may use really thin styrene next and see which is best.

Brilliant greg, Its great to see a thread where someone is really having fun the great thing about these basic kits is the only limit to the added detail is you. I do agree that when ever i finish something i think. now i know what i am doing i could build another one of these much better
