Added cast texture to the turret of my Tamiya 35108 T-62 and to the turret of my AMT T-72. The T-72 has been a shelf queen for far too long and needs to be finished. At least now it will be done soon.

Cheers

Wow, there's some magnificent work being posted here! James I envy you having a Shilka. No one makes on in my scale still. Way to go man!

I use the regular Tamiya liquid cement rather than the Extra Thin stuff. I just brush the liquid cement on the area I want to texture and then stipple it with a very stiff nylon bristle brush bought from a dollar store. I often cut the bristles shorter to increase the stiffness.

Cheers

Thanks James ... today didn't go well Left bank under hood & O2 sensor just came out with medium effort ... Right bank still not out sensor nearly destroyed still stuck in exhaust manifold .... :gogo  ... :idonno

Nice job on the stifling TB ... looks real good ... :soldier :popcorn

Looking good Tank Builder.

Did some painting and building. My Shilka and a T-54B. Annoyed that I did the wrong wheels for the T-54 as they should be spoked from the pics I have found. So more wheels tonight I guess.

I got some color on today between down pours.

This tank had Zimm I know but I don't got none so the story is it hasn't gotten that far down the assembly line.

for the last couple of weeks for me it hasn't been what I have been building on the bench so much as cleaning it off and redoing some things.

Of course for the next little while there will be a bit of "Where the Heck did I put that!" :D

If the wife allowed me to have that much room I would marry her again. :D

Time for another update.

Tracks:

I had another set of DS tracks from a Elephant kit to use so i'm not too worried about the kit tracks getting straightened.

Uncle Tony :eek:ldguy

PS: James did you get more paint on your shooter?

"Tony what do you have going on with the tracks around the ceramic pot?" Pup ask.

This kit was the first to have DS tracks issued with it,can you imagine how kinked up they were when I opened the box? They were FOLDED up around the card that the decals and PE are on. Not only did they have serious kinks but most of the guide horns are crushed flat.

I tried the hot water fix but they were so bad it had no effect. That sugar canister is just the right diameter for a snug fix so I glued the end together turned them outside in and slipped them over the canister. I used a hair drier to heat them up and allowed to sit over night and about noon I checked one loop and those kinks are all but gone.

The horns have gator clips on them and heated in hopes that the weight of the clips pulls them more upright.

I had another set of DS tracks from a Elefant kit that have Friuls on it so I used the DS tracks here in case the kit track wind up as trash.
