All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

Looks alot like the Kfir! :hmmm

For good reason. The Kfir can trace it's roots back to the Mirage III which the Isreali originally began modifying for their use. Eventually as the generations progressed, so much was changed that you really couldn't call it a Mirage anymore. The Kfir is built off a modified Mirage 5 airframe, which itself is an evolution of the Mirage III.

WoW! Quite an interesting history there. Didn't know it also used the J79 engine design! B)

Yep. The Israelis used F4 Phantom engines if I remember correctly. Had a guy I know who was in the USAF said that Israel is great at re-engineering US and foreign aircraft.

Also tanks! Look at what they did with the Sherman and the M60 and the Centurion. Acadmey has a very nice 1/35 scale model of the MAGACH 6b GAL BATASH (based on the M60) and I understand they've released a MAGACH 7C GIMEL (also based on M60).

Cheers from Peter

R4-D5 has been dull coated and is done. Almost finished with the 1/700 boomer. Tendinitis in my elbow is killing me.

Progress on the USS Kamehameha.

Sweet job on the sub Kenny! Way to go!

James, that is a suitably intriguing tease. I'm going to have to check that out.

No time yet for my workbench; my wife and I have the day off together so we are going to bring in the New Year in style. Maybe tomorrow I'll make enough progress to show something.

Happy New Year guys!

I mowed the lawn today and winterized the power washer, not sure if this is the latest I've mowed or the earliest in the year?? :S :idonno

Headed for the bench. B)

No change at the bench...but as soon as the coffee is done brewing there will be another surge forward on the Mirage. :java

Excellent Helios! I love surges!

Mike, looking forward to seeing what you got going too.

Just took a break for lunch here and decided to check in. Been on the bench working on my C-46. After lunch, I plan on surging forward myself!

Been working on the Sturmtiger and Stuka all week during my vacation. Today was finding some greebles to detail up the Stuka from 21st Century Toys-- found some stuff in the spares box from some Warhammer parts and other cockpit parts...need to paint them up and I'll take pics of that and my Sturmtiger interior tomorrow...

A couple shots of the Stuka build--

That's it for now!

Renee wanted a shelf in Ian's room. So after a trip to the hardware store for some lumber, here's what I built...

Taking a brief breather from the Mirage to repair an old model I built back around '91-'92. I got this from my folks while I was out east visiting them this past summer. I wasn't aware any of my old models had been saved.

We all need a trip down Memory Lane from time to time :drinks :drinks

Well I was merrily building a Smerch and then I destroyed one of the suspension units. So that is shelved and I will have to try and find someone from Meng who will sell me the sprue. So now I am playing around a bit with an Eindecker E.I and Albatros B.II from 1915. Hope I am able.
