All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

At the moment, the bench is occupied by an IAR 39 in 1/72nd, where the struts are a total mess. Plastic flimsy pieces of rubbish, warping under the weight of the top wing. Brass tube with a steel wire insert, holes in the wings for the inserts, followed by some ridiculously thin wire for the rigging. JOY !!!

Well done Gerry and good luck! Yeah, I have two 1/72 scale B-52's on my ceiling. They were quite the handful to build!

Thanks Mark ... You must have a Big House ... :rotf ... She's not done yet ... the 1/72 Buff kit has a sister kit a 1/72 KC-135 ... I want to do them in a refueling mode in the 11th AREFS markings on the KC.

No, it's a small place only 748 square feet and only one room of this two-bedroom condo is mine for my hobby. I believe you've seen pics.

Bob, now that you have time to marathon, I can't wait to see what comes off your bench!

Wolf, I know you can do it. Sounds like you have a lot of fun coming your way!

Piet, who shot up your tank? I hope you got the guy when you shot back! :fencing

WOW some nice stuff there. Piet how will you poster up that kiosk? It looks fantastic.
Me I am plugging away at my Salmson 2-A2. Lost interest in my T-90 so will give a few days and try again.
Pics today sometime I hope.
James

Piet how will you poster up that kiosk?

James .......i was thinking the same after i made all the damage :smack
If it dont work :bat i will make another one ,

ww2 era propaganda ,commercial and german film posters are free ....the www is full with them just resize and print

Mark, once again You have spun out of control then recovered like a veteran :pilot .

Ed, your uncles plane model is special on many levels :good: :good:

Gerry, you sure have the cutting edge :)pinch: groan) of modeling going on .....uh just a small clarification,
in photo one, aren't the main landing gear wheels a tinsey bit out of scale?... :tomato .....:smack Never mind.

On me bench, 'Tis still the White truck is Red have cut out the windows, again (actually 3dX around, not counting the mock ups). Am going the "fill in the blanks " route and install the clear windows (already Future'd) then mask them. Then get somewhere father along. Picts later

Regardless:

Happy New Year

Thanks Steve :drinks My uncle's bird serves as a reminder so he will never be forgotten. :salute I intend to build all the aircraft he had flown during his career. (1954-1966) and, Am also doing up an aircraft for each squadron assigned to CVW-14 aboard Ranger during the 1965-66 Combat tour to 'Nam. His bird makes #3 :drinks

I have been busy with several of my builds. Spent an evening on my T-80 cleaning up all the track "rubber pads" pieces. The mold seams and sprue attachments needed to be cleaned up in order for them to attach to the track properly. It's going to be another evening spent attaching them without messing up the flexibility on the tracks.

Last night I actually started on the large Arizona. First step was to fill in all the oval shaped portholes with CA and then smooth them out. I decided that would work better for locating the portholes correctly. With the holes filled and smoothed, I can then mark locations and drill a new hole perpendicular to the surface and not worry about the old hole making it wander off. Now to make the master for the replacement porthole plugs and do some castings.

I also did some initial fitting of the bow and stern deck sections. The deck scribing aligns quite well between the small sections and the upper hull part. The real trick will be to get the parts perfectly level with each other so that all the filling needed will be in the actual slot joint.

I am still working on getting my graphics program back up to snuff. The ADC software company pulled some massive moronic moves with Canvas 16. You are supposed to improve and add features not screw up and remove them with new program versions. :bang head What they did to it basically made it worthless for a lot of things I do with it. :bang head :vmad It's a good thing my old tried and true version 10 will work on the new 'puter. :soldier

OK, had a major "concern" last night which required my immediate attention I'm on a well here at the house & had a 30' geyser going & managed to get it shut off. Thanks to the Copperopolis Fire Dept. The problem has\d to do with a brass T fitting. I think there was a gauge on top of it but, can't be sure. I took a look at it today & didn't find any more parts for a gauage other than the crystal for it & the threaded ring to keep it in place.
Anyhow, I found a threaded cap that fit &snugged it up about an hour ago & turned the water back on & so far so good. No leaks!! :geek :drinks

I asked Bob to move my Kfir build from the IDF campaign to De JaVu since it's gonna be a little while berfore I can finish it. Am gonna try to slap some Radome tan on her tonight...

Good fix Eddy, Wonder if the gauge is out in the yard somewhere or lodged in the roof of the well house.

The gauge is probably there for who ever might inspect the well, guess that only happens if the house changes hands but I don't know California laws about such, we had to have our well inspected regularly out at the restaurant.

Paul, can't wait to see your update, sounds like you got some heavy duty modeling going on. (y)

Yeah Bob, good fix for sure! the plug/ cap I found was layin' within 5 feet of the fitting. You also brought up an interesting thot... Something I need to look into as I do not know if our well needs to be inspected or not  There's no roof overhead, it's all out in the open

My suggestion on inspection thing, ask forgiveness instead of permission. I wouldn't be going callin' no one about it, especially local government types.

And we risking getting :smack by the moderators for being off topic. :tomato

Good thing it's one of the mods contributing to OT talk! :cheer:

Here, an on topic tangent. :v

Looks alot like the Kfir! :hmmm

For good reason. The Kfir can trace it's roots back to the Mirage III which the Isreali originally began modifying for their use. Eventually as the generations progressed, so much was changed that you really couldn't call it a Mirage anymore. The Kfir is built off a modified Mirage 5 airframe, which itself is an evolution of the Mirage III.
