I was a bit concerned with the horizontal stabilizers. 1 had broken off so, pulled the other one off & clipped the rod between them & reattached enuff rod on the starboard side so it would line up right & scraped some paint & glued them into place. :drinks

Not tooo shabby Eddie ... looks very good ... think your Uncle would be very proud of you ... (y) :pilot

Today I'll try to get some painting done on some of my other builds ... the storms of last night came close ... and it's storming right now ... 11 killed in Dallas & lots of destruction ... about 11 tornados last night. I'm glad a live East, We were under a tornado warning once, but it went West of the house ... it is a shame when it storms like this ... and it is very rare for this to happen in December ... Dallas was torn up a lot, and that was at night ... with Daylight coming the truth will tell ... the rest of the story ... :( :zen

Thanks Gerry. I'd like to think he'd be proud. :drinks Would like to have been able to put his name & his P/Ns name on her tho but,the decals were too big.

Yeah, tornadoes in Calif. &in DEC are rare!! Had 1 in Folsom & another in Ceres the other day. Both about 50 miles from here & the weirdest part is, the one in Ceres tore up my cousin's yard!! :blink :frantic Toppled a few trees, tore the fence up & knocked some shingles off the roof.

Very nice work Ed. Strange seeing a "901" on an aircraft but cool. Your photos are very nice also.

Thanks Kenny. Yeah, for some reason they used the 9x Modex on the 1965-66 Combat tour of the Ranger. Probably because they came off the Saratoga's Med cruise shortly before & jumped into training for combat & catch the Ranger at Alameda before she left. A last minute addition to the Air Wing. Also, notice the tail code? AC instead of NK.

This is one of the last pics of my uncle's bird as he was lost 16 JAN 1966 during a landing mishap at night.

Nice final pics Ed. She's a fine looking bird.

Now for what's on my bench. This is a very small update for a lot of work done. First off, I finished three models so I haven't got any pics of them to show here. All I have for now are four pics showing the work I got done on three models.

To start out, I finally did what I wanted to do Christmas Eve before I ran out of time. I added the interior, clamshell doors and wings to the Space Shuttle. In these pics, the tail is only dry-fit on; I have a lot of filling and sanding to do on the engine covers first before I can permanently add the tail:

And yes, the clamshell doors do close:

Man, she's a big 'un.

Next, I assembled the missile cradles for the two SCUDs and got them installed in the models:

WIP_Two_SCUDs_XII.jpg

I then built the SCUD missiles themselves and decided to test fit them to the cradles:

WIP_Two_SCUDs_XIII.jpg

Now that is all the progress I got on unfinished models. As for the rest of what I did:

->I also finished up a Huey Hog by adding the rotors, doors, weapons pylons and tail surfaces while removing the window masking.

->I also finished the Diamond T Cargo truck by adding the spare tires, rear view mirrors, and other assorted detail parts. I then completed the weathering on this truck which doesn't show too well in the pics.

-> Finally, I also finished the T-54B tank by adding the machine gun to the turret and finishing off the weathering of this tank as well.

To see those, you'll have to go to their respective Forums to see the completed pics.

Tomorrow and the next day look to be very busy, so I will probably not see much bench time. Maybe in a few days I'll have time to get more done. Meanwhile, feel free to check out my finished models and thanks for looking in. Comments are always welcome.

Well done Gerry and good luck! Yeah, I have two 1/72 scale B-52's on my ceiling. They were quite the handful to build!

Thanks Mark ... You must have a Big House ... :rotf ... She's not done yet ... the 1/72 Buff kit has a sister kit a 1/72 KC-135 ... I want to do them in a refueling mode in the 11th AREFS markings on the KC.

Well, what was on the bench yesterday was repairing the motion sensor light in the carport. Didn't get shocked so must have worked.

Over the years I've gotten fed up with the low flow showerheads we have to use, I found one of the old ones a while back but all the washers were gone. I got an assortment pack of washers and put them in, hooked up the shower head and BAMN! Like a freakin' fire hose! I forgot about that problem we had with the shower curtain billowing up from the high pressure. Cindy said my hair looked fluffier...:rotf did some other chores around the house, and what's this got to do with modeling you ask?

Slate is clean today....marathon session on deck. :soldier
