All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

Not so much what's on the bench, but a new location for the bench !!

The Man Cave takes shape:

In the northwest corner of the garden, You can see the aperture/frame for the window, so going to have my bench's directly underneath so I can spot 'invaders' coming down the drive and even see the kids (my kids !!) in the school grounds.

Probably the last major project for a while. Next will be getting some proper grass growing !! - but not for a while.

Ian.

And the build is done:

Next will be 'fitting-out'. Going to cover the walls with thin plywood board, pretty certain I can buy it pre-coloured (white). Then the electrics will go in, 2m fluorescent strips and four double sockets at 'bench height'. Then an off-cut of shop-quality carpet, finally the racking... there'll be a shed-load of that... geddit ??
:facepalm

Ian.

IAN!!! Before you do fluorescent look into the LED lights. I'm replacing all the fluorescent for LED in my shop and it makes a HUGE difference. They are more expensive but they are suppose to last much much longer.

Looking good, you going to put a vent in to suck out the nasty fumes?

I'm sure that you're right, Bob, however the sparky's quote was based on fluoro strips, as I've mentioned before, here in Middle Zealand everything 'out of ordinary' is so massively expensive, that often it's completely out of reach for ordinary folks like us. LED lighting for this wee shed is in that category.

I do use LED desk lamps which kind of make-up for it tho'.

Opening window each end, double opening full height doors and living on a windy peninsula directly exposed to the Tasman Sea ought to take care of the fume issue, however I'm very conscious that I may need to do that if there's a problem.

Ian.

10-4 on the expense. They are expensive for me, I've only gotten half my lights in the shop swapped so far.

Fixed the AC! Kept pokin' at it and figure the fan was hung up, guess something crawled up in there and was getting mashed. So I took some parts off and stuck something in the fan blades and gave it a spin or three. Hit the power again and whhooosh...like a cool breeze.

The girls are away for the weekend on a three day horse clinic which means great times for me and the boy. Occasionally I set him free on the XBox so I can play in the man room ;)

Been sick for the last three days with something...no idea what- but it set me out flat with a fever, no appetite and no energy...finally up and about today. Spent $20 at the (not so) LHS getting one can of paint and a small bottle of glue and package of strip styrene- and $7 for gas to and from the 30 minute drive- and this is why I shop online ;(

Worked on the other end of the Quonset hut- scratched a bookshelf and books and a table with radio...need to touch up that dude's face!

And seriously-- I have calling the wrecker done. No really...time to move on to bigger and better.... :yipee

Way to go Ian! Awesome Man cave! I wish I had a yard to do that. Also, would you ever be needing an air conditioner? Looking good!

Mike, that Quonset hut is looking great too! I'm glad to see you've recovered enough to get something done. Way to go.

Started this back in early 2009 before I ended up getting the rash that nearly killed me... I spent alot of time in the hospital during 2009and was unable to build for a couple years due to the shakes from all the meds they had me on...
Anyways, not much was done to it then...
