All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

Thanks EJ. I had gotten this Hasegawa gold leaf paper from a local model contest. He was clearing it out. I had bought it long before I ever got a Saturn V; I figured it would come in handy someday and today was the day.

Got a bit of a production line going here. Three 1/35 scale Tamiya German 8-ton halftracks.

The tractor variant for the 88 mm flak gun, the quad 20 mm flak gun variant and the 37 mm flak gun variant.

Chassis of all three are nearly done. Hood assembly is done.

I cut off the 'D' shaped locating tabs on the track wheel mounts. Now those axles can articulate like the real ones.

Made some modifications to the cargo bay and seating areas of the tractor variant. I've opened up the left side of the cargo bay as well as the two upper rear doors. The lower rear door is where the spare wheel and tire was kept on the real one but I'm leaving that door closed.

I have the cargo area floor in place plus a strip of styrene glued to the lower rear of the rearmost seat. I have the rear bulkhead made too.

I've added treadplate to the floor areas between the seats and also in the driver's compartment.

Am currently working on the dividers for that rear compartment at the very back. I'll post images as soon as I take them.

Cheers from Peter

On the bench today ?? - not too much, working a lot on the run-up tot the FIFA U20 (Football/Soccer) World Cup. However there's been some 'technical issues' at the local HQ, so I'm waiting on a phone call.

In the meantime, Ernie's Pontiac is back on the bench !!

Ian.

Since today is my b-day, spent the day relaxing, and trying to make progress on my turd helicopter model. Making progress but man I'm getting tired of sanding out all the putty it's taking to clean this thing up.

Happy Birthday Adam! I hope it was a good one despite the helicopter issues.

Like Sherman, I couldn't get to the bench this weekend, which bites since I have at least five models within minutes of being finished.

Hope your birthday was a good one Adam! Those dog kits can really be a challenge eh?

Got 2 going at this point and have not touched them in a couple of months. Been working on the "When Worlds Collide" rocketship instead and have it almost ready to paint. Have photos and some stuff for posting worked on but have just been concentrating on building. The little sled under the rocket is the last part and it needs the most work. All will be covered but most likely will be one giant post.

Then maybe something else will get built.

A day late and a dollar short, but happy Sprueday, Adam!

I'm sitting here on Kaui with a cup of coffee and no bench, no worries, nuthin' but the sound of birds and surf. :drinks

Right now thw Darrell Waltrip's #17 Chevy's body is in the paint shop sporting a gloss White coat :D And had the 1/48 Tamiya Buffalo land on the bench.... Gonna be a Yeller-wingy-thingy (y)
