All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

This morning, no chores :yipee , so will be building-up the engine for the Thunderbird and if time allows, I'll spray the suspension parts too.

Ian.

Am using a bunch of scrap parts and scratch-building parts to make facsimile interior for my 1#5 Tamiya M-4 Early Sherman. I backdated the suspension to the same type as the M-3 Grant/Lee tanks used.

Lots of fun making the bits for the sponson (sponsons had to be built too) mounted ammo racks because of the different angles the hull top impose on tyhe top of each ammo rack piece.

Cheers from Peter

What's on my bench, same thing been there for 2 weeks..

I thought I would get to the bench this afternoon but as things worked out I went into work for a visit. Also fixed a minor issue while there, or told someone how to fix it that is. By the time Cindy got me home I was wiped out again and slept all afternoon.

Think I'm going to save up my afternoon power surge to hit the bench tomorrow. Found I got two right now. First thing AM power surge, that's breakfast, shower, walk up the street and go visit Ma-in-Law. then back to the house for a nap. Then afternoon power surge. That's the one i"m going to try and use on the bench tomorrow. Wish me luck! :zen

Take it easy thar Bob! slow & easy is best :smack My dad had open heart surgery in 1991 and he decided to walk 3 blocks from the house (we stopped at the store) and he walked the 3 blocks home & ended up going back to the hospital becuz he over did it!
Just don't need you overdoing it bro...

Maybe you should grab a basic kit to build for fun. Am doing that this weekend with the "When Worlds Collide" kit from Pegasus. Clean and simple kit. Not really that small and the vac-form base has some issues but looks like it will be a quick build for the Geekout.

Been working on the wrecker mostly this weekend...I have to say- the fit on this kit is exceptional...I have barely had to use glue- everything just fits together so well. Pretty much done with basic assembly-- and now I just need to pull out all the stops on weathering...

That gives you all an idea anyways ;)

Looking good Mike. Bob, slow down.

We spent the weekend in Houston with good friends. Model contest on Saturday and crawfish boil on Sunday.

Nice job on the wrecker Jeeves, I'd almost say it was done. I can't wait to see how it looks weathered.

Bob, as others have said; take a deep breath and pull out a simple kit and just fiddle around with it. Get back on your feet slowly; it'll come. Believe me, you have a good six months to come right back and with all that time; you'll be back at it in no time.

I managed to get some stuff done recently, hopefully I'll get some pics posted soon.

Don't have any pictures yet, but this weekend I started working on the helicopter model I picked up at my model club meeting last Friday. I have to say I was a bit surprised to see the amount of flash & mold seams that are present on the kit. It's a Revell Germany kit, so I know to not expect Tamiya or DML quality out of it, but that did surprise me. Also finding the part fit to also be worse than expected, but I'm gonna push through it. Hopefully have some pic's tonight.

On my bench this morning... Various & several AMT Thunderbird engine & suspension bits. The block is together and looks OK, except at some point the Carpet Monster must have wolfed-down the two 'breathers' for the top of the valve covers, b*gg*r !!
:facepalm ...

The front and rear suspension & steering racks are all sprayed satin black, as is the seat, wheels and window surrounds. Only pre-painting to do now is the prop shaft (white) and suspension struts (either yellow or blue). Final assembly toward the end of the week with pics then.

AFN

Post an image of the breather and I'll look and see if any of my kits have the same type.

Cheers
