All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

All Righty ... What are you doing today ?

I've basically finished the IAR. Needs some touch-ups and paint on the exterior of the crankcase fairing covers. Histrionic and climactic post to come! Tomorrow is our yearly chili party- y'all come! Sunday- I turn 56. :drinks

Happy Birthday, Chuk :drinks . Wish I could make it to your joyous chili party; sadly, I have to take the ex-wife ice-fishing. I think you'll be having a better day than me.

As I'm writing this, I've got my feet up and enjoying the cooling breeze and the delghtful aroma of sulphur.

We're in Rotorua for a long weekend and today was kids day. Spent all morning in the Rainbow Springs zoo/theme park, then after burgers'n fries, we spent the afternoon on the 'luge' hurtling down the mountainside avoiding slow Chinese tourists !!

Tomorrow is grown-ups day. Off to the Waimangu Volcanic Valley for an easy three-hour hike thru the geysers and hot mud pools... can't wait.

Ian.

Ian thinks he's having fun (and so do I.)

Moon Puppy: The show was not too large, compared to the June event. The entry's were, for the most part very well done. With a few in the WOW class. Armor of WWI & WWII as well as modern . A Desert Storm dio with a backdrop photo of the Kuwait oil fields burning, a suspended Cobra above the American AFVs was very well executed. A few figures, full, busts, small dios. Air planes, ships and the Space Race entries. Though not too plentiful, were amazing :good:; Geesh even in a "small" scale those things take up alot of real estate- vertically and horizontally. Also some interesting SiFi stuff added to the mix.
The unfortunate part for "we" was, I did a walk through and intended to go back a get some pictures. Just then they closed the room for judging; well obviously they didn't recognize me for who I was ( a Modelers Alliance guy) so I was out of there.
Oh well, it was time for lunch at the food tent. After which, another circuit through the vendors, and it was time to head out- hate to miss my nap ya know.

So final tally for today: [ol]
[li]Got there, saw models for sale, bought some.[/li]
[li]Saw the show, got inspired (again), wished I could do that good (some day).[/li]
[Li]Got a great hot dog.[/li]
[li]Got a couple more models. [/li]
[li]Then home in time for my nap.[/li]
[/ol]
Its all good :ro:
